I am deeply concerned that this "treaty" is even being considered.
This is simply not how we operate in the United States of America. To ignore the voice of the nation which has spoken out so many times on this issue and sidestep the process of democracy is not the way an American patriot would present his ideology. I feel that pursuing this action is a violation of the basic founding principles of OUR nation and therefore an act of high treason punishable by no less than impeachment of any elected official that takes part in this mockery of the constitution of the United States of America.

I believe our contitutional rights are threaten by continual assualt on the second amenment. If congress and the senate want to curtail gun abuse they need to enforce laws already on the books. They need to close our borders to illegal traffic and illegal aliens. Our forefathers provided us with the second amendment to protect us from tyranny. The emphasis on passing this bill is characterized by the claim of fighting drug cartels in Mexico. However, ATF records of gun serial numbers indicates that the majority of firearms recoverd from the cartels are actually of government orgin, many from the United States. How is further impositioning honest businesses and individuals in this country going to address the significant problems in Mexico? Any honest analysis clearly shows that it is not.

Why not sign this treaty? I mean, it isn't as if it rejects constitutional law (by the way, does the constitution really exist, or is it imaginary?). The misleading information and lies regarding CIFTA are sickening. Please do some actual research about this. This treaty has nothing to do with the type of weapons that are used in Mexico, or in most crimes in the U.S. for that matter. Those weapons are already illegal. CIFTA would make it illegal to reload your own ammunition or take your family defense firearms apart to clean them! The criminals are always going to have firearms, and instead of trying to do something about that the government is trying to take away the rights of law abiding citizens who want to protect their families and uphold their rights.
