We, the undersigned, urge the Los Angeles City Council to adopt Jamiel's Law, as set forth at JamielsLaw.com. Neither Los Angeles nor any other city should be a "sanctuary city" for gangs. City Council should accordingly require the Mayor and Police Chief to investigate, arrest and deport gang members who are in our country illegally BEFORE they commit murder or other crimes, rather than waiting until afterwards.

I am struggling to find words that adequately express how saddened and angry I am over Jamiel's senseless death and the city policy that made it possible. How any representative of the people can continue to support the sanctuary city policy that is crippling Los Angeles and leading to death in our streets is unfathomable. Whether the policy is based on compassion or politics, it is a bad policy that must be stopped for the good of all citizens. It's time. Please do what is right for our city.

While I do not live in Los Angeles City (I was raised there), I do live in a nearby community. I am beginning to see the overflow of these crimes in our area. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. A sanctuary city is not the answer. Other illegals will not cooperate anyway. They are too afraid. The community is not safe for them or anyone else. What's the point!

I lost a niece to an illegal immigrant. The case was not even brought into consideration, my sister was told that it is too much work to find the man who killed her and bring charges against him. He was driving, without a license (obviously), when he accidentally ran her over while she was riding her bike. Any legal citizen who kills someone while driving without a license is charged with manslaughter. I love this Country we live in, and California should be a place to be proud of, but it's been looking down for the last decade. Keep your spirits up, there's a light at the end of this tunnel.

I cannot image the loss and frustration suffered by the family. If we fail to act now then the guilt and shame of that will be on us. This time it was to most of us a "stranger". We need to respond as though Jamiel was our son, for if we do not, then what will we say when the next time it is our own son?

I am continuously disgusted at the way our "elected" officials refuse to listen to those of us who pay the taxes that pay their salaries and are being killed by illegal alien gang members. California is being destroyed not only by these criminal aliens running rampant but destroying our infrastructure, schools and hospitals. My husband and I had to move out of our home to get away from the onslaught of all the illegal aliens and their anchor babies. We have to start by getting ride of those who are known illegal gang members....they are a danger to everyone! This is just COMMON SENSE!!!

I was at the rally at Councilman Weiss' office in LA and was very moved. Unfortunately, I live outside Los Angeles County, but I just printed Jamiel's Law flyers to distribute to my friends in LA so they can sign the petition. My thoughts and prayers are with the Shaw and Bolona families.

I was a student at San Pedro High School when La'Terian Tasby was killed by a mexican gang member belonging to the Ranchos. I know personally the affects that a death of a peer has not only on thier family but also on the ones that they saw everyday! I feel that all illegal immigrants need to be deported. Much of these deaths can be avoided and I wish to save millions of other families from this heartache. LTs killer is still at large today and he needs to go back to where he came from!

I live in a county area of San Diego called Ramona. Two years ago an illegal Mexican National killed a young woman resident as she was returning from work early in the evening. He was going over 90 MPH and had a blood alchol level of over 2.0 he had been arrested three times before for drunken driving and was driving a work truck belonging to a business in Ramona. Her mother is still devestated and family is still raw with pain. This man should have been sent back to Mexico long before he finally killed an innocent person and devestated her family. Protection for illegals from deportation is in my view a criminal act. Our elected officals need to be held accountable to the people who pay their salaries and gave them the honor of protecting our families and citizens from harm and mayhem by making sure the laws of our land are upheld.

Illegal immigrants that commit felonies should be jailed elsewhere (not in our luxurious American prisons) because they have no Constitutional rights to begin with. What about a nice, long, stretch at Gitmo? This way, they would be completely out of communication with gang members, affiliates, and, since they have no rights, even family members.

I feel to solve part of the problem we need a new mayor because anybody can see he only helps his people (Hispanics). How can they constantly say there's no racial issue when you have parts ofLos Angeles county that blacks can't go to without getting harassed by Hispanics and even death in a lot of cases.These hispanic thugs just don't care they want our blood because the color of our skin and its not just our men and boys it's our women, kids and elders. So when are our(African American) civil rights going to be protected we're legal? How is it that illegal aliens have civil rights and we have none? We believe in an America for "AMERICANS". Anyone who is not a legal resident, should NOT be allowed ANY priveleges by law. If they commit a crime, they shouldn't even get the value of our justice system. Why should OUR hard earned tax dollars continue to pay for their lives. They should be instantly deported and placed on a register of exile, so should they return to our country and be caught again, they are executed. Why keep feeding their needs, so their numbers can grow & their gangs take over our country. What the hell is wrong with our Politicians & Judicial System. Do they even CARE about their own people.

I fully Support this Resolution and believe it will be a model for the Nation to follow, drastically curbing Gang Violence, and make communities safer to live in, as well as gang related imported drug. No city in America should be a haven for illigal immigrants, and gang members are the worst plague on our society. Just because an illegial alien is smart enough to get here illegaly and smart enough not to get caught, yet, comitting other crimes; Does Not Justify Ignoring National Immigration Laws. "Safe Haven Cities" only encourage more violent criminals to cross the border illegally and become predators in American Communities. All of the Los Angeles, California, City Council should be reguired to make their Positions Public on this Very Urgent Matter. It is time to prevent crime and take back America's Cities and streets. Do the right thing, Set an example to the Nation "That Being An American Citizen Matters, Personal Safty is a Citizen's Right", and protecting your communities is an obligation you signed up to perform. Time to Protect the Americans Constitutions Bill of Rights, as well as the California Bill of Rights and stop favoring criminals with santuary status city policies and legislation. This Santuary City Legislation should be placed before the California Supreme Court for it's UnConstutional Violation of Federal Law.
