Parliament, Don't Sell off England's Countryside!

Recently, Members of British Parliament met with the construction industry about loosening planning regulations in the United Kingdom. The MPs are considering allowing house-builders, retailers, industries, and other commercial endeavours to build on the lush green belt.

According to the Guardian, Simon Jenkins, chairman of the National Trust, argues that the proposed reforms risk allowing an industrial free-for-all.

Though it is important for Brits living in rural areas to have access to commercial needs, such needs should not come at the cost of the very country they call home.

Don't let councils destroy environmental protections! Stand up to preserve the green belt and tell your MP to do the same.
I am writing to urge you to maintain the current planning regulations preserving Britain's green belt from the construction currently threatening it.
Britain's countryside has a long and storied history of natural beauty. To allow it to be encroached upon by strip malls and industry is not only irresponsible; it is ethically reprehensible.
I urge you to stand up for Britain's environment and to resist the pull of commercial pursuits.
