Hand Made Ganesha

Parvathi Made her Ganesha by Hand

Ganesha is the Lord of prosperity.

He was made by Parvathi,
using her bare hands,
to show the world, that
you can create magic and
things as big as
elephants, if you have the will.

Especially the will of women.
Nothing is stronger than the will of a mother.

This is a humble request from
a parent to all children.
Please help your mothers to
make a Ganesha
this year.

Do it a for a better environment and
for the future of your children.

Buying a Ganesha is fine if you have to.
Please buy a clay Ganesha.

Plaster of Paris,
poisons the water. Killing animals, fish and plants.

Making a Ganesha at home
is the start of real blessings.

I seek the blessings of the
elderly and the young.

I make my own Ganesh idol with mud every VINAYAKA CHAVITHI. I have been making hand mdae idols for my own pooja for the last 20years(barring 1 or two years). I feel that collecting leaves of 21 plants also should be discouraged as it is very unecofriendly ritual. In stead one should be asked to plant as many plants every Vinayaka Chavithi.

Parvathi did not make Ganesha with clay. She has used flour from dried green gram / bengal gram to make the idol. Traditionally Indians use oil to massage their bodies before taking bath. The flour (nalugu pindi in Telugu) is then used to remove the oil from the skin - this clears the pores and leaves the skin shining bright and clear !
