Support a Dog Park in Patterson Park!

Target:
Patterson Park and its surrounding communities
Please support us in getting Baltimore City to approve a dog park in Patterson Park.

The Patterson Park Dog Park Committee is working to establish a fenced, off-leash dog park in Patterson Park in Baltimore City where well-behaved canine citizens can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering or annoying people, property or wildlife. To develop a beautiful, well-maintained space open to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the park's rules and restrictions. To view this park as a community project, in partnership with the City of Baltimore, designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike.

Patterson Park needs a place for dogs to play off-leash!

Our dog is in desperate need of a space to room legally. We love the Canton dog park, but live across the street from Patterson Park. A dog park would only enhance our love for Butchers Hill and this area.

A dog park of decent size is needed as soon as possible in Patterson Park.

While excersing my dog in the tennis courts the other day (not another court was being used by tennis players or others), I was threatened with a fine for allowing my dog "off leash", even though it was a contained area in a fence. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

It is unbelievable to me that Baltimore does not have many dog parks. Usually the problem is NIMBY, but the Patterson location would over ride this issue. Having supported the Canton Dog park for years, it has finally become, for my two dogs, too small a space for so many dogs. Baltimore is getting more hostile to dogs in general. Politicians and developers keep talking about green space and green canapies...where are they? Issues like "how many dogs are allowed at one time" and materials best suited to cleanliness, etc. can all be solved. Perhaps dog owners would pay a yearly fee and have a membership card or a gate card. Either way. dog owners are willing to spend money for their dog's happiness. We VOTE and we're WATCHING. That's the most important point to make.

As a dog owner and a resident of the City of Baltimore, I benefit greatly. Patterson Park is an incredible place to go, dog or not. The park is large although heavily used by all. Having a designated off-leash area for dogs would benefit all. Less dog waste, less unexpected seemingly stray dogs, and less dog fights. I keep my dog on leash but still carefully navigate her around kids, groups, and other dogs to make others more comfortable and be responsible. A fenced-in off-leash (and off-leash only) area is a safer, healthier way for dogs to interact under the direction of rules that can be easily followed. We already know there is a huge population of dog owners in Baltimore and frankly, it helps most of us sleep a bit more soundly at night. Thanks for your consideration to make Baltimore a better place for all.

I am truly surprised Baltimore does not have more dog parks. They are a proven way to increase a sense of community and make areas safer. Just what Baltimore needs.

Badly needed for this area. There are certainly plenty of canines in the area that would benefit from it. There are several people that currently use the Canton Dog Park who drive from White Marsh and other areas several miles away to use it. I expect the same would be true if this facility was established in Patterson Park.

This would be great fo families in Baltimore City. It would give the citizens and dogs a chance to be together and be more friendly. It would increase city quality of life.

This would be a great addition to the city & a great way to keep dogs leshed and waste contained.

A fenced in dog area would contribute immeasurably to everyone's enjoyment of the park, and not only help enforcement of leash laws but also of dog waste pickup.

This dogpark would only enhance the use of Patterson Park. Much concern has been brought up in the past concerning dogs off leash. This should improve that situation dramatically if not completely.

I think the dog park is a great idea! Dogs will have a place to play and socialize, an non-owners will be able to walk without having to fear large dogs off-leash. I support it 100%
