Pitbull dragged to it's death!

Tuesday night Ardmore Oklahoma residents watched in horror as Antonio Ray dragged a pitbull behind his bicycle through the city streets.  Numerous people called police and one couple even captured a picture on their cellphone.  He was dragging the dog, said John Rhodes, who witnessed the event. Its arms were behind it.  Its chest was on the ground and there were streaks of blood. Rhodes measured the blood trail in his truck, it was at least a quarter of a mile long.  Antonio Ray was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.  The dog was taken to Ardmore Animal Shelter with injuries to its side, head and paws, but died before any treatment could be given.

Antonnio Ray is in court for 1st hearing this morning. The maximum penalty is 5yrs in prison and/or a fine. Please urge them to go for the  maximum sentence.  His next hearing is on March 31, 2009.  He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
We the undersigned believe that animal abuse of any kind should not be tolerated.  In a situation of such blatant disregard, we have faith that you will make the right decision and give Antonio the maximum sentence and fines allotted by law.  Please show this community that you DO NOT support, and will not accept, this behavior and that consequences will be enforced.

Though we cannot take away the pain this innocent creature suffered, we CAN ensure that this person will not EVER harm another animal again in the future.  Please let your heart help make the right and just decision and let the raw facts lead him to 5 years in prison.  A person capable of such horrors to an animal is more than capable of inflicting the same to a person.  We cannot allow such individuals to participate as a member of our society.  He simply is not safe and will most likely do it again!

We greatly appreciate your time and consideration in this matter. We are confident that you will indeed weigh the severity of these actions with serious consideration.
