The South Florida Dog Rescue MeetUp, along with many other concerned citizens in the Miami-Dade County area and elsewhere, are petitioning the county in order to ask that you give the Sabbath Memorial Rescue an extension on having to evacuate their animals from their current residence. We feel that only allowing them two weeks to find alternate homes for their dozens of animals is insufficient. If these animals are unable to find new (and/or temporary) homes outside of the shelter, we realize that they will unfortunately be taken to Miami Dade Animal Services, a place which is already overrun with so many unwanted pets. Miami Dade Animal Services are unfortunately not a no-kill shelter, and so it is fairly certain that many if not all of these animals will inevitably be euthanized. We are petitioning, then, for an extension of an additional 6 months in order to find all of these pets safe homes where they might eventually be adopted or taken to alternate rescues. Realistically, being given less time than that would mean that most of these animals would have to be put to sleep. If Sabbath Memorial Rescue has more time, they might be able to find a new location for the rescue as well, saving the lives of over one hundred dogs. Please realize that these animals' lives are very important and precious to all and that they will have a better opportunity to find new homes if they are given more time to do so.

Humans need to have compassion for these animals. The animals did not ask to be homeless and unwanted. They deserve a chance to find a forever home.

Animals deserve the same treatment just as much as we do. Please give them more time to find a loving home. It is not their fault to have to go through this.

This world lacks CARE for others and that includes ANIMALS.
Let's show them that they are loved and give them back some TLC by giving them the time they need to move.

What this man is doing is beautiful and extremely loving. How does the County have the heart to break this family apart. These three individuals are caring for dogs that would otherwise be killed or sick on the streets.
I researched this matter and I found that the state gets money for euthanizing animals so are we doing this for money?
These dogs deserve a second chance - just like people.
Leave this family ALONE!!! Allow them to continue to do good. People in this world should take lessons from him and see how much love goes into what he is doing. This land doesn’t need to be rezoned. Thus, STAY AWAY!!!

Re."not no kill shelters" - these should be forced to openly declare themselves to be so, with a declaration to that fact in plain view.
Re."rehoming" - temporary and permanent homes could possibly be found for the animals by means of circulating photographs of EVERY animal on a single sheet explaining that the shelter is having to close down, within the surrounding area. You should be able to find a paper donor from any number of "green stationary" company or even a printer who would do this as an act of charity.

We have someone that is trying to make a difference and help these animals that others have neglected and thrown out on the street. I don't understand, the county should be greatfuel for what Robbie is trying to do. If only other people felt this way and cared we would not have this problem that we are in. Miami dade county doesn't give a crap all there are going to do is put the dogs to sleep and sell the bodies to rendering plants. It will cost too much money for them to take care of the dogs and put them up for adoption. They will take the easy way out. Robbie is a wonderful caring person and something needs to be done to help him and these beautiful animals. Please have a heart and help
