For about four years I was a voluntary missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in my country. Much of the litterature to read about the church was from the church. The local library had no internet or books on Mormonism.
For political reasons, I had to make plans to leave my country. I sold most of my land and other valuables to make my first trip to the US. I chose to come to Utah mainly because I had fallen in love with Mormonism.
It was during this time in Utah that I started to dig more into the Mormon religion that I found out that Mormons believed that God placed a curse on those with dark skin.. If I knew about this situation when I was in Africa, I would not have become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I would not have recruited others to join.
Because I was a member of the anti- Apartheid movement in Southern Africa becoming a part of an organisation that has a racist/discriminaroty foundaton presents enourmous contradictions.
Please ask LDS Prophet Thomas Monson to include in baptismal discussions information on God's curse on those with dark skin
Keep up the great work. Look what you've accomplished!
