Please help us bring Smokey home! A Rescue Keeshond dog named Smokey was placed in a foster to adopt home in October 2007. The woman that runs the Keeshond Rescue Group, out of Northern California, made a commitment to the man that was approved as an adoptive home for Smokey. With no warning, she had the dog seized from the home and then she took him to court and ultimately, regained custody of the dog. The dog has been in this wonderful, pampered home for 6 months. Previously he lived with a young woman for almost 10 years. When the young woman could no longer keep the dog, she agreed to surrender him to the group, and specifically to this man, who had just lost his two beautiful Keeshond companions to old age. Please help us reunite Smokey with his new Dad. He is heartbroken. Smokey is heartbroken. We are pleading with the Rescue Organization, BARK to return him to his rightful home. Home is where the heart is, and this dog has made his home with this man. Please ask them to put their personal agenda aside and DO THE RIGHT THING! Their website is www.keeshondrescue.org

Please know that what happened is 100% wrong, and is the case of a very confused and misguided Rescue Group. The dog's home and adopter WERE APPROVED both verbally and in writing. In fact, the Rescue Group HAS the adoption fee! And, they took the dog!!!! We need all the help we can get to get this dog back where he belongs..... Thank you.
