Principals Permission Required To Take Your Kids On Vacation

At the present it is possible to be hastled with the truancy officer if you don't ask the principals permission before taking your children on vacation.

I notified the school that my family would be taking a vacation at the beginning of February. We got homework for my daughter (2nd grade) and my oldest son is in kindergarten so he didn't have any. My daughter said she couldn't find a couple of her papers when we were coming back. They missed a total of 8 days of school for this.

This is straight out of Nazi Germany! The state does not own my children and I am planning for the struggle to get the handbook into a version suitable for a free country! I am contemplating homeschooling my children but this would not fix the problem and I am not one to allow anyone to be treated in this manner.

My children are passing with good grades. I spoke to the principal and notified her that if they were doing this with failing kids it would be discrimination. It seems that the people running the education for our children think its a factory and everyone should be exactly the same at all times or something is wrong.
