This is what happens when we throw away things that can be recycled.

Promote Recycling

Everyday thousands of cans and bottles that can be recycled are thrown away. Without recycling bins located in convenient places people simply throw away their recyclable items. We need recycling bins in public places so that bottles and cans will end up being recycled, and not in landfills.
Everyday thousands of cans and bottles that can be recycled are thrown away. Without recycling bins located in convenient places people simply throw away their recyclable items. We need recycling bins in public places so that bottles and cans will end up being recycled, and not in landfills.
We the undersigned believe that it is everyone's responsibility to protect the earth. One of the largest problems is how the landfills are filling up. Twenty-five to thirty percent of landfills are plastics which take five hundred to a thousand years to decompose.

Everywhere you go you will see garbage cans but rarely when you're wandering around the city do you find a recycling can.  We need to make recycling easier for every one because if it's easy then nobody has a reason not to do it.

Please help us to reduce landfills and keep the environment clean and healthy. Thank you for your help with this important issue.

I recycle almost everything. I have bags of recycling in my car because there is not a recycling center near me. I wait months to give my recycling to my Mom so she can drop it off at home. I recycle: plastic, paper, newspaper, magazines, cardboard, aluminum, plastic bags, tin containers, etc. Do what you can and reuse items in your house! I agree there should be recyling bins around the city streets. People might throw garbage in there, but then again lots of people don't have jobs, maybe give them a job sorting recycling?

I was just on vacation in North Dakota, and I didn't see a single recycling bin anywhere! I brought home a big bag of plastic bottles and stuff. There should definitely be more bins around in public.
