The National Assembly for Wales is the beneficiary of revenue from the sale of land at Barry Waterfront, in the region of £60million and we believe should commit to reinvest a large proportion of that money in Barry.
This will assist in ensuring provision of much-needed community facilities, road and footpath linkages for greater access, social and environmental improvements, sustainable developments, educational opportunity, public art and heritage, tourism and economic development.

We the undersigned request that the National Assembly for Wales enables the Barry community to take ownership of its future, by setting it free from the cyclical nature of uncertain, centrally driven, grant funding competitions that do not empower local solutions to local problems, and enables a long-term funding commitment solution which is commensurate with the monies to be received by the National Assembly for Wales through sale of land at Barry Waterfront.
We signed the "Proper Funding for Barry Regeneration" petition!

I have lived in Barry for 12 months and moved to the area as I was led to believe that Barry and Barry Island were to be re-generated. During my short time here I have seen no progress and in fact the opposite is happening with deterioration of buidings, roads, fences, waste ground etc. There appears to be no effort made to rectify the situation. If more money was made available I'm sure the shabby image presented to tourists could be improved.

The end of Barry Docks docks led to the degeneration of the town, so why can't a fair share of the huge profit from the sale of dockland not be reinvested back into Barry? The people of Barry made that profit!

What the hell were they thinking when they closed to baths for good? they really should have rejuvinated the area, instead of letting the land go to waste until some houses are built there. safe. thanks alot.

I agree that it is about time that money should be but back into Barry. The land was the start of Barry, and all of our heritage came through the docks. The time has come to repay, the people.

Barry has suffered greatly from lack of investment. This has been partly caused by its proximity to Cardiff, which has soaked up public money. It would be a tragedy if once again Barry were to lose out on investment opportunities.

"From each according to their ability, to each according
