Proper mental health supports for young people

  1. Suicide is the biggest killer of Ireland's young people with 500 people lost last year.
  2. There are NO mental health advocates for under 18's.
  3. Young people are not receiving help when they need it-and are being neglected by a service which is not designed for them
We the undersigned,
Are sick of the lack of mental health supports for young people.
For too long the mental health services have been sorely neglected in Ireland.
However, for young people in particular there is a HUGE lack of services and those who are 'lucky' enough to access the services are often disappointed with the quality of the service.
Young people have completely different needs to an adult and the mental health service should take this into consideration. Instead young people are left alone to support themselves during one of the toughest times in their life-with little or no help from anyone.

We want to change this- but we need your help. Young people particularly those in Donegal have been let down time and time again- and by signing this petition we are demanding that something is done NOW before we lose any more young people to suicide.

Please check out our blog www.unwindyourmind.wordpress.com which has been set up to give young people practical tips on how to help themselves through tough times.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and please show your support
