Proposal for an Animal Stewardship Bill that would create an Animal Welfare Department on a national and state level, as well as serve to strengthen the enforcement provisions in the Animal Welfare Act. The inspired Animal Bill of Rights written by ALDF is paramount for inclusion into the Animal Stewardship legislation as it reminds us that animals are living beings having certain rights, and living beings are not property. This Bill removes jurisdiction by the USDA completely. Instead it creates a department within government made up of animal law attorneys, animal behaviorists, veterinarians, educators, and more who can draft humane laws for our society with regard to care and treatment of animals.
The AW dept is a new arm in government that will make sweeping changes for our animal friends, changes that will end their suffering from abuse and exploitation due to greed and ignorance, once and for all. Please add your name to support this Animal Stewardship Bill.
