Wetlands in danger of being destroyed on the polluted C-24 canal in Port St. Lucie, Florida

PROTECT FLORIDA WETLANDS IN PORT ST. LUCIE - STOP PAVING PARADISE!

Target:
City of Port St. Lucie Council
Sponsored by:

Polluted water has ruined the once beautiful St. Lucie Estuary.

The City of Port St. Lucie plans destroying the healthy wetland and creating a large parking lot.   It is the only natural filter left on the filthy and toxic  C-24 canal.  This wetland is vital to the survival of  the manatee, dolphin, tarpon, snook, osprey, heron, eagle, turtle, bobcat and many other native Florida species..  Our RIVERS ARE BLACK and our estuary fishes are sick and our populations are declining.
Florida waterways are in serious trouble.
Take Action!
Urge the City Council of Port St. Lucie to save the wetlands and help create a healthy clean waterway for everyone to use.

We the Undersigned ask you not to destoy the wetland along the C-24 canal.  Our Florida waterways are in a crisis from polluted water being discharged into them.  They have reached the point of being unfishable and unswimable.  Our wildlife is disappearing at a rapid rate.
Please re-design the park to be more passive and environmentally friendly for all residents and vistors to enjoy.
Thank you for your time and consideration

The Port Saint Lucie City Council has also purchased 60+- acres of wetlands in the Southbend neighborhood to put in a new elemtary school. This will add to the devastation of natural wetlands in this area. Please help us get this land protected.

I am currently researching the destruction of wetlands for a college paper. It is more important than people realize that we stop developing wetlands. This is all going to come back to bite us sooner than we think. Please do the right thing.

Please stop the construction. The wetlands are a very important ecological area and must be preserved.

hello My name is Mary and I feel that saving our wetlands is very important to the survival of many animals that live there and as well as the filtering of water because is nature taking care of the water in its own way without chemicals and if its gone then where will the animals live and how will the eater be filter naturally so please don't destroy the wetlands as there are so few left we need them to be around Thanks Mary Norris
