We the undersigned, protest the re-instatement of torturers of animals to the National Football League!
We do NOT want convicted felons to be re-instated to the league. First and at the very least, convicted felons should be ban from all professional sports for life. There is a saying that the easiest way to judge how evolved/enlightened a society is, is to see 3 things: 1) What they teach their young 2) How they take care of their sick and elderly 3) How they treat their animals. What does it say about us that we raise up criminals; murderers, drug dealers, rapists, and animal torturers on the pedestal of the professional athletes /heroes?
We do not accept Michael Vick's apology! It is not to us that he needs apologize! And though the dogs, who are better and more noble than we are, would probably forgive him, there can be no forgiveness without this very least of consequences. We as a culture can not and should not say that any criminal behavior is an acceptable way to act or live!
"I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man."
~Mahatma Gandhi~
"Let no one be discouraged by the belief there is nothing one person can do against the enormous array of the world's ills, misery, ignorance, and violence. Few will have the greatness to bend history, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events. And in the total of all those acts will be written the history of a generation." -- Robert F Kennedy
