Our son lives in New York and we frequent NY often - we are also contributors of the humane society of New York - It is sickening that there was one juror who 'wasen't sure it wasen't self defense"... that guy might as well of been kicking this defenseless animal himself. That cat had NO CLAWS - please see to it that Petcka gets the maximum penalty...I prefer to spend our vacation money in a state that doesn't tolerate this kind of abuse. Thank you.

The fact that this creature was not human does not minimize the pain and suffering it went through at the hands of someone who is supposed to be human. Someone neeeds to speak up for the defensive, innocents who cannot speak for themselves; they wimper and cry when hurt, they bleed red when hurt, they has their own thoughts. They speak, they just speak a language that we is not truely known to the humankind. In this case, a beloved was adopted into the home, the beautiful feline was loved by the woman. You see, Some people adopt these loving felines as a member of their family, and others adopt them as not just a member of the family, but, accept the felines are their "fur-babies" aka: Children. Such as myself. So, this case for me is very near, and dear to my heart. I cannot imagine a loss like this. What this guy did was cold hearted MURDER. He needs to be punished PROPERLY, and given the maximum for this crime. I am glad to see that this is being brought to the courts, people who abuse, harm or, murder animals NEED to be punished fully for their crimes. This guy needs to be stopped before he can commit another crime like this.
