On August 13, XM Radio The Power Station silenced two of the independent voices they had. Two voices that always spoke truth to power. Mark Thompson and Rev. Ambrose Lane, Sr. were eliminated from the line up. Instead, we will now hear Al Sharpton as he apologizes for the democratic party while our rights are eroded and our sons and daughters die in Iraq. He will cheerlead for them as they give billions of dollars to Bush & Co. Please sign this petition demanding XM restore Mark Thompson and Ambrose Lane and let The Power continue to be an independent voice, not another partisan political noise.

We need to find a way to get this petition out to all XM listeners! We need these two lights of knowledge beck on XM 169 -IF 169 is truly to be "ThePower". I've listened to Ambrose for almost 10 years now on PacificaRadio http://www.wpfw.org/. They still post wo www.weourselves.org as well. But I can't find ANY outlet that Mark can be heard. We must get him back on th mic!

Our country is in big trouble now. Limiting American voices only digs us deeper into the hole. All American voices need to b heard at this time of trouble,talking about the problems and voicing independent views. All sides of each discussion must be listened to. This is the way that we Americans have always solved problems. Open discussion has historically been the only way that we have made changes in our country. Please refrain from silencing voices, instead encourage more and continuing debate. To restore these silenced voices will be an act of patriotism.

Replacing Mark Thompson's show with a daily sports show is an insult to black intelligence. If the Power wanted to be diverse, Lee Michaels and staff could have cut both Mr. Thompson show and Mr. Lane's show to two hours each, and given them the timeslots wasted by the daily digital sexual relatioship show that air on weeknights (just an idea). Has anyone else noticed how the promos for the XM169 station have changed? Lee Michaels and company have removed all of the powerful, constructive promos/drops ("I got the Power, you got the Power"), and replaced them with the person who does voiceovers for conservative AM talk radio stations, such as WSB in Atlanta. Additionally, there is a promo that is being used by the Power that says, "No Conspiracy Theories Here." This is a veiled reference to counter the past commentaries of Lane, Thompson, and even the guest contributions of Mr. Dick Gregory and Rob Redding at Reddingnewsreview.com. I bought XM for the Power. I did not mind paying for XM because of the divrese talk and information. "The Power" hss become watered down, and I can save those quatertly payments to XM by canceling my subscription. Bring back Matsimela Mapfumo (Mark Thomspon) and Ambrose I. Lane!!

At the most benign, this move was made for economic reasons because the shows that replaced them are synidcated. But I fear that a station that supposedly represents the voice of African American dissent caved to commercial and/or political pressure to silence two of its strongest voices. Bring them back now!
