Appoint J Lo as "American Idol" Judge

Jennifer Lopez (better known as "J. Lo") should be one of the judges on the upcoming "American Idol" season.  With the absence of Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Kara DioGuardi, FOX executives have at least two judges' seats to fill for the hit reality show.

A global phenomenon who has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, J. Lo dominates the music, film, TV and fashion industries and has parlayed her fame into multiple endorsement deals.  Her two-decade-spanning career gives her the experience necessary to mentor young artists on "Idol"; her charisma and on-screen presence make her perfect for the TV gig.

J. Lo is the best candidate for the job, having already proved her competence when she served as a guest judge on two "American Idol" episodes in 2007.  She would be the first Long Islander to judge "Idol" and would be a wonderful representative of the community.  Although the Bronx-born entertainer is more widely known as "Jenny from the Block," she's also "Jenny from Northern Boulevard."  Paparazzi photos repeatedly reveal her shopping and dining all over Long Island.
Dear Fox Executives and Decision-Makers,

We the undersigned believe that Jennifer Lopez - or, as she is more widely known, "J. Lo" - should be one of the judges on the upcoming "American Idol" season.  J. Lo is a global phenomenon who has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide.  A household name, J. Lo dominates the music, film, TV and fashion industries and has parlayed her fame into multiple endorsement deals.  Her two-decade-spanning career gives her the experience necessary to mentor young artists on "Idol"; her charisma and on-screen presence make her perfect for the TV gig.

Although reports that J Lo is no longer being considered for the position have been circulating recently, the entertainer is a much better fit for the job than Mariah Carey and Shania Twain (both of whom are rumored to be the current contenders for the spot).  J. Lo is, first and foremost, a brand.  She was a young girl from the Bronx who, twenty years later, has successfully remade herself into a North-Shore-dwelling, unapologetically glamorous superstar, and she is the perfect role model for the talented unknowns competing on "Idol" for a chance at fame.

Thank you for your consideration.  We hope to see Ms. Lopez in the judge's seat on the upcoming season of "American Idol."

Sincerely,
