Reginald Blanton Was Railroaded To Texas Death Row

Target:
The Texas Board of Parole and Pardons, Rick Perry
To The Board Of Parole and Pardons, Texas Governor Rick Perry, The Courts, Judges, Lawyers, and Taxpayers of Texas, and All Concerned People Worldwide

This petition is to bring awareness to the wrongful conviction of Reginald Blanton, Texas death row inmate. Reginald was railroaded to Texas death row for a crime he did not commit.

The trial was shoddy, and false testimony was used to get a conviction. Other factors in the trial include, prosecutorial misconduct, perjured testimony, ineffective assistance of counsel, mitigating evidence, insufficient investigation and actual innocence.

Reginald's court appointed lawyer did not try his best to help Reginald. He did not have a jury of his peers, there was no eyewitness and no murder weapon was found. Because of his street gang affiliation, Reginald was "guilty" before he ever went to trial. There was reasonable doubt, and this alone should have thrown out his guilty verdict.

We the undersigned are asking that this case be looked over, and a new trial be presented to assure that he receives justice.

this is ridicolus that this inncent black men is being killed. The state of texas has no evidence that this man was the one that killed dthios innocent man. we will never know who did it unless someone steps up and admits to their wrong doing. But this man should not be killed for somthing that has no evidence over it.

How many people do you all plan on pardoning after death? We are not the judge in life and must not take on the role of our Lord and determine when one will die. Remember we are not to know the day nor the hour! So, you determine the day and the hour who's role are you playing? May we pray that process in Texas be changed very soon!!!!!!

This execution needs to be stopped - and real justice needs to be served. One false execution is already on Gov. Rick Perry's head.

An eye for an eye only works in the Bible. It is possible that this man is not guilty of the crime he is accused of committing. Because the Governor is in an Election cycle and attempting to show how heavy his hand is, doesn’t allow him to continue the unbearable number of Texas executions. Please, spare this man and everyone else on Death Row.

Considering that the original trials were so shoddy, I think it is urgent to reopen the case. Please give justice to Reginald Blanton!

I do not know much about the case but howeever i do believe and i have heard about many cases and people have been covicted of crimes that they did not commit.Of the state of Texas cant have an open mind i feel sorry for them. And as us having a black president that should open your mind to see that this man can be innocent.

I am signing this and i really hope this petiotion will work, it would be a shame if an innocent man is killed for something he didn't do and I am truly sorry for all the friends and family of this poor man, my heart goes out to you all. I hope the smuge ass bastard who really did the crime will one day be brought to justice and given life in prison (not the death penalty cause that's like really wrong to wish death upon another human being)

You should not execute someone without a fair trial. Reginald should be afforded a better lawyer and a retrial!

There was no physical evidence linking him to the crime! The shoe print found on the door didn't even match his foot size. Don't kill an innocent man! He is not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt!

The evidence of error and prejudice is so great that the odds of another wrongful execution are extremely high. Those who support the death penalty should be worried about that, as Mr. Blanton's execution would further strengthen the case for abolishing the death penalty.

It's truly sad when a country such as ours can find no other remedy than to take one's life, this madness must come to an end..... Execution do not prevent crime. If it did we will all live in a crime free world, don't you agree? My 18 yr old was killed in a car crash and left on the street, the driver who crashed into him never called for help instead he and another person that was in his care fleed the scene. To date he is still a free man. Now, do I want him dead, no, because that would not give me back my son. Do I want him to suffer, Yes I do! I want him in prison where he belong. Execution is not and never will be the answer.

Dear Governor Perry, please grant a stay of execution for Reginald Blanton to investigate more detailed the possibilty of actual innocence. Don´t let him be a second Todd Willingham case. Kind regards Christian Hoeckmann

T. willingham was wrongly executed in 2004. Once is enough, Once is even too many. R. Blanton should not be the victim of Texas flawed ''justice'' system.

If there is ever a doubt in a verdict such as this life without parole should be the penalty. I know I might rub somethe wrong way but a person and the sustem still have time to revisit the case. The point is to get it right. Not tell the family we are sorry that we made a mistake. The death penalty is not a deterent it is revenge that is sometimes misguided. We as a people are better than the death penalty we must rise to a higher level of humanity

I don't think that my cousin should be killed because of a crime he didn't do. I believe that sorry ass public defender should have reviewed the case before he got my cousin locked up for all these years. Now ya'll ready to kill him if ya'll really want him like that ya'll should just spare his life and let him spend life in prison but i rather just let him come home he has alot of cousins to meet. His cousin Toya

My name is Dorothy Haynes, and I feel that the execution of Reginald Blantant would not serve anyone for the good. He is my cousin and he used to play eith my three boys, which are all law abiding citizens. Please do not let my cousin die but to give hime Life in Prision are a lesser stay as time served.
