Release Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

In the interest of bulking 2009's balance sheet Warner Bros decided it made enough money for one year following "The Dark Kight"'s mamouth profits. However, Warner Bros has been promising the release of "The Half Blood Prince" in Nov. 2008 since the "The Order of the Phoenix" premired in 2007! Now they have moved it to July 2009 in order to bulk-up thier profits for a year where they are short on blockbusters and can't hope to make the kind of money they earned with "The Dark Knight."

However, fans, children and adults have been anxiously awaiting the sixth installment of the Harry Potter series. Warner Bros. greed and nothing more has influenced it's decision. They want only to even their profits from 08 to 09.

The movie will be done and ready to go for Nov. The trailers are out, the date is well known, it's time to tell WB that they can't treat fans like this and release the film on time as promised. Or, Warner Bros can come to all our homes and tell our children why they can't see Harry Potter this year.

On behalf of millions of Harry Potter fans worldwide we ask that you set aside greed and avarice and release Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince on time as announced over a year ago. Unless you want to come and personally apologize to every single child who has been waiting for this movie ever since they walked out at the end of the last one, you need to release this film on time.

It's truly horrible to say "hey kids, we could put the film out in November 2008, but we wanted bigger profits for 2009, and profits are more important than the fans (because we know we can kick fans around all we want and they%u2019ll still buy tickets!) so forget all about Harry Potter VI this year, but heck, it's only a year away!" And what's a year to a kid (but an eternity).

If money is your motivator, then you are motivated by the greatest evil, greed.

I'm french and I just got the news, it's terrible, I was so happy to have again our Harry Potter film for christmas. It was a great gift, the best of all you could give us !!! Please don't make us wait 8 months more, especially if the film's ready and if it's only a question of money : christmas was always a very good season for Harry Potter !!!!!!!!!!!! Please, please, another year is too long. Don't do that, I'm begging you and especially not if it's motivated by greed. In hope the fans will be heard here, bye : Elke

This is ridicules that you have pushed back Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince. How can you tell the public who are loyal fans that they have to wait even longer. The movie is finished, why not keep the public happy. People are not going to be such loyal fans after this travesty. You must remember we the public are the ones that pay for your fine life style. How would you feel if the public told you that we will not go to see your movie that it probably is nothing close to what it should have been anyway. We the public have been putting up with these unmoving films because our love of the Harry Potter Books and just to get a small glimpse of what the wonderful world of Harry Potter brings to people. So why don't you start thinking of the loyal customers instead of yourselves because in the end you might get a rood awakening when half the people you expected at the box office don't show up.

It is unfair to have promised the fans of the Harry Potter franchise the release of the 6th film in November 2008, then greedily push back the date for your profit in complete disregard of the fans. These movies are greatly anticipated and those who intend on seeing Half Blood Prince are going to see it no matter what. The same amount of people would see the movie in November as in June. So it wouldn't be a "summer blockbuster", but with all the hype about WB pushing back the release, it would probably get even more audiences!

I think it is stupid of them to wait to release until July they told us in the beginning they were going to release it in Novemebr sure Batman is a really good movie and they made lots of money on it but Harry makes a lot anyways so they should just keep it to there old schedule

Why in the world did you people change the release date? I've been waiting for this movie since .. well I don't know when exactly, but I'm sure it's been a REALLY long time. Can't you PLEASE change it back to the original release date so that I can live happily?

It is absolutely absurd for WB to treat the Harry Potter fans this way. There is no reason for the film release date to be pushed out other than for their financial reporting reasons. What they don't realize is... that the fans are the reason these movies make them unheard of amounts of money. If they don't have respect for the fans who have eagerly awaited this films release, why should we have the want to line their pockets in 2009? If the writers in Hollywood can strike, why can't the fans? JK Rowlings should step in and do something about this if she cares about her fans.
# 95:

I'm personally disgusted with this shameful policy of WB company. They would do much better to remember who buys the tickets to see there movies in the first place. How can they show such obvious lack of respect for the costumer and get away with it. I say cut there heads open with a blunt knife and fiddle with there brains, make confetti out of there fingers they don't use them any way !

Shame on the WB for pushing this back all for a little extra money. If there was a viable reason for the delay then I could understand, but the film is completed and a date was set. The fans were looking forward to this and then they were truly hurt when they were told they'd have to wait even longer. I am not a huge fan, but I like the films and would've continued the series to the end. But if this date gets pushed back I will be done with Harry Potter. I will not support greedy capitalist swines who just want to make an extra buck. RESPECT THE FANS AND REALEASE WHEN YOU SAID YOU WOULD WB!

I just saw this preview last weekend and I was looking so forward to it! I was excited that it was coming out in November and now I find out I have to wait until next summer. That's is just unacceptable! You make your money off loyal Harry Potter fans like myself and I think it's time that the studios listen to the fans...release this movie in November '08 as planned!

Why wait when it is going to be the same amount of fans in seats in July that would be sitting there in November, the difference is the customer satisfaction! why should we be expected to wait? We know that we have to wait 2 years for the next film we expect that as the film has not been made but the HBP is there waiting trailers out!!!
# 84:

This decision RUINED my holidays... I am serious. My two boys and I have been planning this weekend forever it seems. To have to wait almost a whole year is UNEXCEPTABLE. WB... please for once in corperate America do something for the little guy and ignore the utter greed that permiates the industry. It's not like you won't make ANY money this November

This is ridiculous that you would do this to the fans to make money. I won't be seeing another WB film unless the release date is changed back. Matter of fact, I probably won't go see ANY other WB movie besides the HP ones EVER unless it is changed. You people are incorrigible to do this. I guess I won't be seeing Dark Knight either, which I was looking forward to before...
# 77:

I believe that more people will go in November. Why? Well, because there is nothing to do in November except have Thanksgiving dinner. In the summer people are working, vacationing, or wasitng away before they have to go back to school. If the Movie was released in November it would give kids, teens, and adults the excuse to go out and have a good time while watching an amazing long awaited movie. Yes I know the reason the WB moved the Release date is just because they think they will get more money, but come on... even if you do make one more million, will it really matter? I agree with Ruth from Florida, "You underestimate the fervent fan base of Harry Potter". Thank You.

# 75:

To WB's Mr. Alan Horn and Mr. Jeff Robinov, I offer a paraphrase from Lord Voldemort: "You are a fool, Warner Brothers, and you will lose everything!" You underestimate the fervent fan base of Harry Potter. As Hermione Granger would remind you, "A promise is a promise!" November 2008.

Tis a shame that WB had not submitted a "reason" as to why the release of the film had to be altered. It does make sense if the "Star" of the film is unavailable due to prior commitments, but honestly WB, let's be real about this, YOUR fan base is what makes the MONIES.
