NO see my pointGovner Paterson has wanted to tax soda as a obysed tax/he has over taxed cigeretts in a way to push all smokers out of NY but when there is no smokers left where will the tax come from ?? as for the class action cigerett law suit money they get from tobacco companies governor patacki borrowed money against three years of payments and he had no wright to do so!! we the people of AMERCIA we have the wright of freedom of choice that being the case when a state forces there people to stop something by ( predijust acts) like raising taxes so high you can't afford it this is against our constutional wrights ! we can't go to a hospital in Oswego because they say if you get amitted for a period of time they will force you to quit by giving you patches and or other thing this is against you freedom wrights he wan't to remove the gas tax cap so they can raise taxes so that gas is realy high costing to people and this will hurt every one I liked the one to put tracking systims in all cars to track which roads you drive on and how much to tax you and track your every movement but not there cars or state cars or police cars only people residence. if you look at your eletric bill like me I use 50-75 dollars in usage but they surcharges are higher then my usage how fair is this?? NY has or is becomming a policing state like a title 50-75 dollars how un fair in my eyes they are raising taxes to give themselfs raises soPLEASE LETS THE PEOPLE SPEEK UP AND TAKE CONTROLE OF THIS BEFORE IT GETS WORSE!! we are in a very bad econimy so why raise taxes cut taxes I don't think that govenor Paterson or anybody in Albany has the abillity to handel the stimulas money with respect to us the peoples intrest!!! we should have had a new election when spitzer resined he was not in office long enought for Paterson totake over more then temp not full time and the people need to speek up and stand up now before it gets very badthey force people to go to the revservation to buy smokes and then bitch well if they reduced taxes they would make the difference in the amount of sales and the Indians will lose customers not gain and then they would not have so many court cost with the Indians which means we save money and make money why is NY goverment so greedy and somuch innterested in controling all the peoples lives ?? this has to stop or nobody will come to NY state years ago I had about 2000 friends come here to fish from all over the USA but now they go to canada because how NY has become the cost and how they are controling fishing and other things well thank you and sorry for spelling I am not good with spelling and the computer I use 2 fingers still

I barely make ends meet @ $10.50hr, wage freeze this year. Live on tunafish sandwiches and cereal for the most part to try and pay bills. Make too much for food stamps. Taxes went up increasing my mortgage $50 a month. I say get rid of not just Paterson but all the jerks in Albany and start over. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO GOVERNMENT FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE? We need people in Albany who feel our pain, who've walked in our shoes, not people who say they understand.

we live in a quite small town in northern n.y. Money is hard to come by for this part of the state. Not many jobs, etc... So we are struggling already to keep our heads above water. If the Star Program is taken away, We who live on a fixed income may along with other homeowners lose our home. Then we may have to go on welfare just to get ahead...What is wrong with this plan? Make stricter rules for the people on welfare, and stop taking away what little bit of a break from those who worked all their lives and now are finding it hard to help themselves....

Gov. Patterson. Don't you understand that you don't poop where you eat? Being a single woman who is trying to keep my house, I am very distressed that the Star is being elimated. It's hard enough to pay these outlandish taxes as it is. Are you going to pay my taxes when I can't? Apparently you make enough money!! It is a proven FACT that our children are moving out of this state by leaps and bounds to get away from the cost of living here. Gas finally went down, food prices are still going up. Why? Welfare recipiants get more money when they have more kids. Why? Seems their punishment for being irresponsible for having more children would be to get less money. Maybe this would force them to get off their asses and get a job. Stop aliens from coming here and receiving EVERYTHING for NOTHING. How is it possible for them to get loans and aid to start a business, and I can't even afford to keep my own open? Get rid of the 200+ politicians in NYS that we don't need or want. Why does it take more politicians to run NY than the whole country? Pretty soon, we will have more politicians than residents at this rate. If we can't get you thrown out, you won't be re-elected anyway. My only hope is that NYS won't be totally in the crapper before that happens!!!

How is it that our elected officials and welfare recipients themselves are so worried that about their benefits not keep up with the ever continuing increases in the cost of living and always screaming for more. How do they afford the $6-$8 a pack cigaerette charge? Why do NY roads look like a land fill blew-up on the sides of the roads. At the risk of insulting welfare recepients we have loads of non technical work that we pay peolpe to do. Put these free loaders to work to pay for their cigarettes and non essentials doing these jobs and get rid of the nonessential people just there to collect a State paycheck. Tax payers are TIRED of State workers, Welfare leeches and unneeded programs that raise our ungoddly taxes!

Everyday I wake up wondering what things are going to be changed, for the worse, by Governor Patterson. He seems to be making cuts in the wrong places for the extremely wrong reasons. I find it hard to believe that cutting education and healthcare is going to benefit the people in New York State. I work as a preschool teacher. I work long hours with tons of work to even keep the classroom running. Now with all the work and time I invest in this classroom, I am not able to fully feel my accomplishments are being heard based on the pay that I am receiving. If the state could increase their education funds, then people like me would be able to feel the effects of working hard in a classroom setting. Please look at the big picture. We are the people that are teaching and ensuring your children's developmental growth in the world.
