Remove Moderator at In Session's Message Board

My screen name was Mora 16 and I had been a member in good standing on Open Court BEFORE August 2002. I always complied with all the rules and had never even been "warned' or disciplined by the Moderator, Coldwater, during all these years. However, in Sept. 2009, I started a Thread in Open Court about tenants that had completely trashed my rental property causing approx. $10,000 in damages. I was never upset and referred to these tenants as "White Trash" - which allegedly was offensive to one other poster (City Girl). I explained that this term ("White Trash") has always been used by my Southern bred Mother to describe a white person with no values, mannners or respect for others. The next day when I went to Sign On, I noticed that I had been "banned" and Coldwater had sent me a E-mail message saying I was banned forever for using the word White Trash. I sent her an E-mail message apoligizing and stating the reasons why I had used the term White Trash but it didn't change her mind about undoing the fact I had been permanently banned. I found this action by Coldwater totally unwarranted and my good standing as a poster for over 7 years meant nothing. IMO - Coldwater should be removed from her position as Moderator as she has her favorite posters, she is totally biased and judgmental, and has no empathy towards posters. Thank you for any action you deem appropriate.

I am the half of the reason the Michelle Young board was shut down. My continual instigating of the posters there and blatant misinformation was appalling. My co-hort KAT4EVIL played a close second, she's quite deranged and evil and since she had an affair with COLDWATER she got to pull a few ropes and ban the best posters there. But, not to worry every chance we get we will be sliming the victims family and trolling for trouble on other boards. Coldwater was certainly playing favorites on the Michelle Young board. There were obvious trouble makers on there whose sole intent seemed to be to have removed any people who believed Jason Young was guilty. These trouble makers were mean, insulting, and tattled on the the others to Coldwater. Coldwater ignored the trouble makers and their actions and allowed them to stay while getting rid of the ones who were more respectful, used logic, common sense, and facts to back up their comments. Coldwater SHOULD be removed. She and one of the trouble makers who was always tattling seemed to be friends.

Coldwater has been a biased, illiterate, hypocrit of a moderator for far too long. She has DELETEd informative posts that people have spent their time researching on The Michelle Young board, so there is no way to go back and find that information. Coldwater has allowed idiotic posters to bash the victims family, bash other posters and in general she has been a big part of the reason the Michelle Young board was overrun by bumpkins and troublemakers who have no life other than arguing with total strangers ABOUT total strangers on a message board!!! This moderator deletes hundreds of posts at a time and closes the board at whim. We haven't been able to post about Michelle Youngs case for months, so hundreds of posters have gone to other boards to do so. The original posters on the Young case were intelligent, informative good people who got along well and were interesting, they were banned or just disgusted w/moderator and a few idiots and moved on. The "poster" who remained were unintelligent, uninformitive bad people who eventually got the board closed down. Please get rid of CW and open the Michelle Young board to the posters who really care about this woman and her murdered babies. Thanks

Coldwater is the most biased anti-victim person I have ever had contact with. I was kicked off the board after complaining about posters who accused the victim's sister of dipping her niece's blood in her dead Mother's blood in order to make bloody footprints at the crime scene. She has allowed repeated libelous comments on the Michelle Young board and then banned posters who complained about the comments. She is opening up InSessions to libel suits that you will lose. Please remove her and allow honesty and dignity to moderate your boards.

To the owners of In Session message boards: Please spend one hour viewing the boards and see what a joke the so-called rules are. Sometimes they are enforced, often they are not. It all depends on the mood of your moderator on any given day. The posters have to walk on eggshells. It used to be such a great place to post. Now, it's not worth the aggravation. Coldwater has said repeatedly that the job is too big for her. Her frustation shows in every post she makes. On the other boards I go to, there is a moderator for each forum. Surely, with all the ads on the site, IS can afford multiple moderators so one can be assigned to each forum and the rules would actually be enforced and applied to all posters all of the time?

What's the point of having discussion boards if you're going to ban people for disagreeing? Add to that the constant shutting down of boards for the night for no reason. What kind of moderator picks and chooses which members emails he/she will respond to? I've only emailed her 5 times but I have never received the courtesy of a response--EVER. I doubt the goal of 500 signatures here will never be reached because it looks like there are only about 100 people left posting on the site. What a shame that one person has ruined what used to be a fun place to gather and discuss cases. Oh.....and her job? Yeah, that's really really tough. I've seen inappropriate things posted that have been reported and it doesn't get removed for a couple of days. Why? Because she's not there to take care of business. She only shows up for a few minutes a day to complain about how hard her job is, close a few boards and ban a few people just to make it look like she's doing something. Why do they keep someone who's so vocal about disliking her job and who is so disliked by almost everyone there because of the way she conducts herself? Find someone who wants to do the job and can do it effectively.

I also agree with much of what has been said here, although I don't approve of the personal insults. CW has a tough job because there truly are some sick people on every board, IS included, and it must be like policing the twilight zone some days, but her random bannings, time-outs and the runaround and nonsensical replies when asked about them really are confounding. She will ask you for proof of what you've stated, you give it .... she'll reply with something like 'why did you send me that?'. I don't think many even take the board seriously anymore. It used to be respected, now it's more a joke. But who cares, right?

I totally agree with what has been posted here. Please remove this moderator. The IS boards are good - or, at least, they have been good - but this moderator is ruining them. She doesn't actually moderate. She shows up now and then to pick and choose which rule she is enforcing that day and which posters get on her nerves enough to ban for the heck of it. She'll ban one poster one day for some made up infraction and then the same "infraction" will be committed over and over after that with no consequences at all. Is it a violation or isn't it?? She does nothing about the "queen" posters who continually are snarky and break the rules and yet will ban other posters for the slightest infraction. It's like the Twilight Zone over there with this ridiculous moderation. You never know where you stand or what will set her off next. And God forbid you get on her bad side on the days she is "in a mood". Please save the IS boards from ruin and hire a good moderator.

I agree with the other sentiments on here. I have been on the board for over 4 years now and I stick around because I have a long standing relationship with a lot of the posters over there. I still keep in contact with ex-members who have moved onto other sites, like websleuths, because they got so sick of coldwater's craziness. She freaks out over the slightest thing. Closes boards for hours, sometimes even days because of the slightest infraction. I agree that she isn't coherent in a lot of her posts and they don't make sense. I am not sure if she is suffering from dementia or is just extremely cruel, biase and hateful but she needs to go. I hate that we've lost so many members to this nonsense. I don't like the way the threads are set up at websleuths and I have friends on insessions boards, so I stick around but I barely post anymore because I am scared that I might say something to piss her off. Get a new moderator.

Please remove this "moderator" and get one with intelligence and the capacity to understand what moderating a message board entails. She often whines how hard her job is, she had to give up her precious time off to deal with problems...blah, blah, blah. This is so unprofessional. I recently reported a post for blatantly breaking the TOS and received an email from Coldwater that was barely understandable, asking who posted what and to point out what was against TOS. Um.....excuse me? Right in the text of the report, which was CC'd in the email to me, was who posted the post and what was posted! It was just another diversionary tactic by this "moderator" so that she wouldn't have to discipline one of the favored board members who have thousands of posts. Her tactic, when dealing with a report, is to throw a bunch of b.s. your way and hope you don't bother to respond - that way, she doesn't have to do anything. She appears to be very lazy in her duties. Posters pm her and ask why certain other posters continue to be allowed to continually sign up with new names after they are banned, only to continue their trolling and baiting. She replies that there is nothing she can do. What?? You're the MODERATOR of the forum, correct? Yet, you have no control?? She posts in a thread that someone broke the rules, knock it off or be banned. The next day, the same rule is broken over and over and she is nowhere to be found. Report it and she either ignores the report or has some befuddled answer that makes no sense. She isn't educated enough to spell correctly or use correct grammar, yet she is managing umpteen forums? Please employ a moderator that at least can carry on an intelligent conversation in pm's and actually enforces the TOS all of the time for every poster, regardless of whether the poster has 25 posts or 25,000. Thank you.

How on earth has Coldwater kept her job? Do the powers that be at IS not care? She can not put a coherent sentence together, her "rules" are arbitrary and apply only to some and never the "pet" posters, she tells people to report, then gets annoyed when they do, she wants the posters to do her job (check out the many hoops you must jump through to have your report even considered), then she says don't report at all or you'll be banned, she shakes her finger and uses insulting terms to degrade those with credible complaints - WTH is going on at IS? I post on several message boards and IS is BY FAR the worst in regards to moderation. There is no rhyme or reason to it and the rules change with the wind. Coldwater is an embarrassment to IS - please remove her and replace her with someone who actually knows how to perform a moderating job. Thank you.

I began posting in the IS board for Haleigh Cummings the day after she went missing. I posted for months, making friends along the way with posters of varying opinions, which we shared and debated daily in a wonderful way. Then, I began to notice several people silenced from the board and their nics on the banned list. And one Friday, I got the axe, and never was told the reason, only that I had violated TOS, and was banned forever, no infractions, no timeouts, nothing. I felt shocked and humiliated as I always felt I contributed worthwhile discussion to the board. I caught up with posters on other boards later and they were as shocked as I was. Coldwater has since stated on the board that she will delete any emails asking why people got banned, she doesn't have to give explanations. In my humble opinion, she is a liabilty to the board, not an asset in any way.

CW seems to make rules up as she goes along and the punishment rarely seems to fit the "crime". She seems to think she's above reproach. Coldwater needs to be replaced. The bannings are getting out of hand and she/he often bans for the most mundane reasons. The fact that she will let the baiters alone while banning anyone who says anything back to them occurs too frequently. Whatever her problem, she is no longer a suitable moderator due to lack of (self)control and the ability to make a reasonable decision.

The moderation is not consistent. There are several 'trouble makers' that harass other board members on a daily basis, and they are never banned. Then another member could post an innocent post, and BOOM, they are banned. I've never been banned myself, but I have watched numerous board members disappear. It has gotten so bad lately that I believe many board members have left the site for another one. Coldwater seems to be having a nervous breakdown, or at the least lots of personal problems that he/she is taking out on the board members. Insession needs to remember that without the support of board members, their site wouldn't exists. The amount of revenue from sponsors will diminish quickly when the amount of posting board members declines. I ask that you please listen to the complaints that have been written, and take action.

The moderator at the Caylee board is a miserable old woman who's goal in life is to rule the world. For heaven's sake, why would she ban people for wishing others to have a good day or for asking people to pray for a sick loved one?! Yes, I agree that off-topic posts are not allowed, but CW is a control freak! The other threads have people saying rude and ignorant things day in and day out, but they are never banned. The kindest and sweetest people on the Caylee thread are banned no matter how many new nics they get. Someone needs to take a look at this woman and retire her ASAP.

It seems that a moderator must have a certain amount of intelligence, patience, honor, and humor. Coldwater has none of these attributes and the Board suffers for it. There are no rules that can be depended on - whatever her mood is on a certain day calls for certain rules and she may ban you the next day for following those same rules. There is no sense of structure at all.
