Remove the Headmistress (Andrea Charman) of Lydd Primary School, Kent
This petition will be delivered to 10 Downing Street in order to protest against the slaughter of Marcus, the Lydd Primary School Lamb. However, we are not just protesting the mindless slaughter of Marcus. We are protesting the conduct and governance of Andrea Charman, the Headmistress, who wishes to run her school like a farm and business. A school is a place of education, not a place of slaughter. The pupils of Lydd Primary School have already suffered enough mental anguish. Save the future animals of Lydd Primary School, protect the mental well-being of students - Remove Andrea Charman!
The following areas need to be addressed due to Andrea Charman's disgraceful conduct:
1/. That animals are not property, that they are not food sources, that they are not placed on this Earth for the bidding of human kind.
2/. The meat industry is not a fluffy cuddly business where animals are hand reared by loving children. Animals are abused, fed unnatural diets, reared on a cocktail of antibiotics and drugs just to keep them standing - that is the reality of the meat business.
3/. That all the other animals which are being housed in the school grounds are guaranteed not to be sent to slaughter. If this guarantee is not made, these animals should then be removed and sent to a sanctuary.
4/. Marcus was hand reared by loving children who are distraught that he has now been slaughtered. They may well require counselling they have been so badly affected due to their love of Marcus.
5/. There is a known and accepted link between animal abuse and human abuse. By teaching children at such a young age that it is ok to kill animals, this may well lead to more disturbing and abusive behaviour in the future.
6/. Lydd Primary School governance. Andrea Charman directly ignored all pleas from parents, celebrities and animal sanctuaries to rescue Marcus from slaughter - this is disgraceful conduct by a headmistress.
Due to all of these reasons and many more, we are petitioning for the removal of Andrea Charman from her post as headmistress of Lydd Primary school in order to safeguard the mental well-being of these Primary School students and to protect any further animals from death at this woman's hands.

Animals are not possesions, they are not food sources, they do not deserve to be abused - these issues need to be addressed in education. However, Andrea Charman is already responsible for the death of one animal and yet there are still animals on her school site as well as animals she wishes to purchase with the intent of slaughtering them. We are petitioning for her removal as Headmistress in order to save those animals from slaughter and to protect the students of Lydd Primary School.
The animals who are within the Lydd Primary School grounds need to be guaranteed that they will not be slaughtered. If this guarantee is not made, we are asking for these animals to be removed to a sanctuary where they may live out their natural lives with loving companions, whom these children have become.
Andrea Charman received pleas from parents, celebrities and animal sanctuaries to save Marcus from slaughter and yet she ignored these pleas. For a Headmistress who should care for her students, their parents and her school, this is absolutely disgraceful conduct.
We therefore ask for her to be removed from her post before she can cause any more harm.
Sadly, the repercussions of this woman's misguided actions will be felt in the lives of these poor children and their families for years yet to come. This has nothing to do with teaching and everything to do with ego. Shame on her. Why is she still employed?
A despicable way to behave - sack this teacher at once - I am a teacher and I stongly believe that people who let our profession down should be dismissed immediately.
What this woman did and is still doing is disgusting. Schools aren't farms and what she did was completely unnecessary. The children thought of Marcus as a PET, and were very emotionally attached to him...despite this, Andrea Charman decided to continue with his slaughter, and even removed him from the school so rescue attempts would be made! Next, she wants to slaughter piglets!

This is one sick and cold-hearted woman! As usual, one who loves to slaughter animals is also cruel to children. I agree totally with this petition.
Students should be learning how to take care of animals, not kill them for profit.
Andrea Chapman said she wanted the children to understand about life in the countryside. I also live in the countryside and still manage to enjoy my life without killing anything. I love the countryside, I love animals, walking my dogs, horse riding and enjoying the wildlife. However, I do not eat meat and I do not go around getting my kicks from killing things just because I live in the country. Why do people assume that if you live in a farming community the only way you can enjoy yourself is to be a bloodthirsty, meat eating moron charging around in a wax coats wielding a shotgun?
How this woman was ever put in charge of children I have no idea but she needs to be dismissed and jailed for her abuse of the children in Lydd and cruelty toward animals.

A Headmistress should be teaching about compassion, love and respect towards other living creatures, not keep it for a while and then have it killed. She is despicable.
How are we suppose to teach our children that we are the more civilized species if we cannot conduct ourselves in a manner befitting. There is a known link to those who abuse animals and once adults enjoy an increased level of violence. It is hardly promoting democracy if the class wishes were ignored and the vigilanty head mistress behaves in any way she sees fit.
What message has this headmistress, Andrea Charman, sent to the children? No wonder they need counselling.
This is a horrible thing for the school to do. Enough animals are raised for the slaughter house already - its it really necessary to help them? Disgusting. - and what is wrong with these kids?

The "System" (jails & prisons) are overcrowded with people that were taught at a young age that "animal abuse is acceptable". Let's stop it now and maybe our future will be just a little more civilized.

When a calf is dragged into the killing pen, wide-eyed and terrified with the stench of blood and death in his nostrils, there is no compassion. Nor when the captive bolt shatters it’s forehead. When the slaughter’s hand grabs the muzzle of a lamb to stifle her bleating and applies the knife to her throat, there is no compassion. And without compassion there is little hope for any of us.
