Remove William Collett as Russellville Police Chief

Target:
Russellville Police Chief
The Chief of Police in Russellville Ohio, is William Collett. On September 7th, 2008 he was callled to 118 Fairground Dr for a domestic dispute. After his arrival he interviewed both parties involved, and called human services, both parties informed the Chief that neither would like to press charges, he said by law some sort of charges had to be filed, but it would only result in Mayor's Court. After asking the male subject to leave for the night, and let cooler heads prevail he said to call him and he would come back and discuss everything. His last statement to the male was " The last thing in the world i want to see is this family getting torn apart." When the male subject returned he followed all of the chiefs directions and was told the teh Chief would get with us. On September 17th, 2008 both of the subjects were arrested on Domestic Violence charges. Chief Collett did not even file the charges until September 15th, 2008. If his intentions were to file theses charges why would he tell the two people that "no one is going to jail over this" and that the charges would only be enough to go in front of Mayor's Court? He flat out lied to both the subjects and an upstanding member of the Russellville community, who would if asked back this whole thing up. I feel that it the resposibilty of we as citezens to put in a Chief that is trustworthy and honest, not someone who tells flat out lies because he was too lazy to take a person to Adams County jail. This man also claims to be a man of God as he is a Pastor. Whatever happened to seperation of church and State? Let's get this guy out of here and put someone in his place that has some sort of integrity to his job.

As the man who this efected the most I would like nothing more than this man be removed and pay for all of the court costs and attorney fees incurred by both parties.
