As of 9/15/09 The American Pitbull and 'Pitbull Types' Have been banned from Sioux City IA. We are working on a way to appeal this terrible ban that takes away from our rights as US citzens. The council made the statement that we are only a few from Sioux City that don't want the ban and I for one would like to prove them wrong. When you sign make sure you add your address as without it your signature won't count... Thank you everyone....

I own a pitbull planning on moving to Iowa. He is one of the most loving dog comparable to Labrador retriever. His temperant is higher than collie and slightly lower than golden retriever. Don't punish the dog, it is the dog owner who should be punish. Don't prevent prospective hardworking individual coming in to your community just because people have a wrong impression about this loving dog. Thanks for your consideration.

I am not a pit bull owner, but I do not agree with the pit bull ban. Where will it stop? How long will it be before I am told that I can't have my German Shepherd or my Siberian Husky? Our rights are being taken away from us by our local government, and we are sitting idly by and watching it happen. This needs to stop!

i have a four year old stafford shire bull terrier and he is the first dog that i raised from a pup and there is not one mean bone in his body when u first meet him he want to lick and and PLAY and after 15 min with u he is laying By your side and even tho i am only 18 at the time witch is quite young yes but my dog is my best and loyal friend and i just want to add that all dogs Could be mean big or small it depends on the owner of training or lack of discipline IF YOU GIVE THEM A CHANCE THAN U WILL SEE THAT THEY ARE NOT the BULLY BUT IN TURN THEY ARE THE BULLIED

I have been on a deployment to Baghdad as personal security for V.I.P's, celebrities, and high ranking government officals and I would just like to add my two cents about the Pit Bull ban is completly bogus! It is not only against my and other peoples constitutional rights that I went over to Iraq and fought for(which many of you bastards never did so you take your rights and power given to you for granted and denial is a grave personal sin), but eventually WILL put the pit bull on the endangered species list. And frankly I don't want and don't feel comfortable with people like you running the city and in office if you seriously think this pit bull ban is a good thing. It's not the breed of the dog that makes them aggressive, its the owners. You do this to pit bulls and where to next? It's extreme prejudice and RACIST!!!

I am moving to germany and they have a ban there so we have to leave our pet with my sister. My pitbull is the best dog we've ever owned. He listens to every command and he even plays with rabbits. He loves to play with catsd even. please help save these innocent dogs. We saved a pitbull from side of the road that you can tell was used as a fighting dog because of his manner and he knew we were helping his hurt leg. Its the onwers fault for making them suffer like this. Please help all pitbulls. Thanks

again, what is wrong with these dumb asses and their strive to keep regular people from prospering. these ARE the same people driving this country into the ground. taking more and more og our god given rights. who are they to say i cant have a pet, a family member? it makes me sick, to think that this country that i served, 8 years in the army, and now get handed a 4 page of regulations and ordinances, telling me what i have to do just to let us keep my 3 year old daughters pup. a dog i have had as a family member for quite some time now. he is very docile and well mannered. he wouldnt even protect himself from these morons who want him dead. what happened to this country which i have served? i soldiers like me are still fighting terrorist for the freedom of our people, when the real terrorists are here in our own country, making up false laws and taking away te freedom who we continue to die for. is the death every american soldier who has ever died for our rights, for no reason, because these terrorists with thes laws are racist raping our constitution and way of life? this is ethnic cleansing in the heartland isnt it? my country, the one i was proud of, taught me to fight for american rights, liberties, and freedoms. is it going to take a civil war again to stop this racist slavery? my dog is a member of my family, and think about it a second. what would you do if your family was threatened. They have decided that Mojo is to dangerous to live. We all know this is not true! Mojo is the most caring, loving, loyal dog you will ever meet. Please help us keep Mojo alive. Please help us bring him home out of the cage he has been stuck in for 21 days. He is lonely and scared and all he wants is to go home and be with Shannon. They want to put him to sleep because of his breed. That's not ok! We have to stop them and save our beautiful Mojo. There will be an appeal in the morning. We will then have to show that he deserves to live and have a life. I am asking everyone to write a letter for him, to keep him alive. We can't let them do this.
