Please add your name to the the 1000  Southbridge Residents who have signed petitions in opposition to the Extension Contract with Casella. 

We, the undersigned, as residents of the Town of Southbridge, hereby request that the Southbridge Town Council:

• Rescind the "Extension of Agreement for the Operation of the Barefoot Road Sanitary Landfill, and Refuse and Recyclables Collection, Southbridge, Massachusetts" dated May 29, 2007 (the "Extension Contract") and any amendments,  or side letters made since that time pertaining to that Extension Contract with Southbridge Recycling and Disposal Park, Inc. or any affiliate of Casella Waste Systems; and
• Protect the public health and safety of the community by contracting to only dispose of Southbridge's waste in the Southbridge Landfill; and
• Not allow any incinerator, including a gasification facility, to be developed or located in the Town of Southbridge.

We, the undersigned, as residents of the Town of Southbridge, hereby request that the Southbridge Town Council rescind the contract with Casella and protect Southbridge from becoming a huge waste park for Casella.  Casella's contract to develop their "Southbridge Recycling and Disposal Park" includes the largest MSW landfill in the state, a bottomless gasification incinerator, and a processing facility that grinds materials up to be buried and burned.  This waste park will generate thousands of garbage trucks in a never ending stream of traffic to our region from every direction.  This is not our vision for the future of Southbridge.
Please protect our health and environment and rescind this contract with Casella.   Thank you!
