Restrict Newbie from Posting until they contribute

Currently anyone can create a bogus account and begin posting comments to the polls and news items immediately.

We, loyal Care2 members, would like to see the rules changed so that at least 20 butterflies or 10 petitions need to be signed before someone qualifies to post comments. Answering the polls can be for everyone but posting comments should only be for those who contribute to the site.

This would stop people from creating bogus accounts just to post comments.

Totally agreed, especially reading the comments from the news article advertisting this... *laughs* ... however, if this is true then it should be made slightly easier to earn butterflies. I earn my butterflies by doing all 10 Click 2 Donates, and I'm still not on twenty. Spammers will be immediately put off by this; no website is worth the hassle with such a rigorous initiation. ^_^

I agree with the Point being made here and would Also Like To See the Rule extend to Completely Filling out ones Profile; Yes People will Lie; but it will reduce Spammers and Lazy Provacateurs From Gaining access To Groups and Other Peoples Profiles; untill they follow up and Share Something Real or Not; about thier persona and Motives. There are Too many Antagonistic Right Wing & Religous Nuts Posting over and over in the Comments both news and Polls...

I also agree.. I have seen in a few comments that they were mean & not warranted..tho getting 20 butterflies aren't that hard to do really.. just click away at the worthy cause..now petiones aren't either.. tho I sometimnes get carried away.. sometimes I rather do petitons then comment or go to my message box.. sorry if I get someone on my freind lists late.. just so busy at times doing what I feel is more important..
