Retract Highway Traffic Act

Target:
Ontario Ministry of Transportation
Sponsored by:
This petition seeks fairness, reasonableness and restoration of individual civil rights (which Canada's soldiers fought hard to attain). This petition seeks to mitigate all overly harsh, overbearing and unfair punitive measures of the highway traffic act. I agree that the highway traffic act needs to be mitigated for fairness (for example, reclassifying many traffic offences as needing an intentional component ie.// men's rea, reclassifying many offences to be strictly financial ie.// ie bylaw level in nature with zero points. I also feel that mandatory legislation such as mandatory boat licenses, fishing licences, moped and scooter registration schemes, future bicycle regulation schemes, helmet laws, seatbelt laws, cellphone vehicle regulation involving Bluetooth requirements schemes, vehicle stickers schemes,  "priviledge to operate a motor vehicle taxation schemes like in downtown T.O., red light cameras, cameras on roads, drinking and driving fishing ambushes, police roadside entrapment setups, "roadwatch harrassment programs, life jacket scheme laws etc. are regulatory boondoggles that are an infringement of individual rights and freedoms and run counter to the spirit of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms and need to be repealed and revoked. Any future propositions that run counter to the spirit of the charter need to be discounted and ignored as civil rights boondoggles that run counter to Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms and ruin quality of life of and are undemocratic in spirit.
