Thank you for showing your support for the Johansson family by signing the petition to return Domenic to his parents. Our petition has collected nearly 5,600 signatures from more than 30 countries.
Unfortunately, more than two years after the state-sponsered kidnapping, Domenic is still in foster care. Recently, Gotland officials decided to attempt to terminate the Johansson's parental rights entirely.
A new petition has been started reflecting this new information. It can be found here: http://www.change.org/petitions/fredrik-malmberg-we-demand-the-immediate-return-of-domenic-johansson-to-his-parents

During June of 2009, Swedish officials boarded a plane bound for India and removed Domenic Johansson from his parents' custody without a warrant or reasonable cause to believe that he was being harmed. Their reasoning? Dominic was being home schooled, which was permitted by Swedish law, and his parents had also legally opted out of giving him standard vaccinations.
On December 17, after being kept in state custody for several months with minimal visitation from his parents, a Swedish court UPHELD this decision and reduced the parents' visitation hours to a one-hour visit every five weeks.
It is an outrage that a "free" country would rip apart this family simply because they do not conform with the government's mold. This egregious human rights violation needs to be rectified IMMEDIATELY. The social workers who made this decision ought to be dismissed and Domenic restored to his parents with an official apology.
In November 2010, Domenic's father, Christer, decided during one of these once-every-five-week visits that he had had enough. He took Domenic home. When he informed the authorities of their whereabouts two days later, police officers swiftly showed up and took Domenic back into custody. Christer was arrested and jailed, finally being released in late January.
