Ross Wiseman should resign

Ross Wiseman should resign

Target:
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Minister Ross Wiseman
Sponsored by:
Ministerial accountability has to mean something.

To quote the recently released report of the Cameron inquiry:

"The current legislative structure clearly establishes a relationship between the regional health authorities and the Minister and it is, in my view, the Minister who must exercise this oversight role."

A failure, by any reasonable standard, to exercise oversight when his Department was provided with (and concealed) crucial knowledge that jeopardized the health and lives of hundreds of cancer patients in Newfoundland and Labrador is ample cause for dismissal.

We the undersigned, in light of the findings of the Cameron Inquiry, respectfully demand your immediate resignation as Minister of Health and Community Services.

In the media, cancer patients have asked for Wiseman's resignation. To them, he represents the face of the problem. The fact that the premier refuses to even move him to another portfolio shows nothing but contempt for the victims of this scandal.

The Premier removed a minister from Cabinet while he was being investigated for improper fiscal affairs - so clearly Health Care ranks super low on this gov's priority list. There are multiple failures of accountability here - Premier for not removing an incompetent minister & not heeding public opinion; minister for not doing the RIGHT thing & resigning and the PC Party for tolerating action within their party that are NOT in the best interest of all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

not enough has been done...a lot of what is needed is organizational and mangement ..not even medical degrees are needed to fix many of the problems! Just good work ethic and consientiousness !!! Complacency is the problem ...and lack of insight ! leadership must go !
