The only way to pressure South African leaders to come to their senses about siding with Mugabe, is to threaten to remove the 2010 World Cup from them.

Even if the cup does go ahead how will anyone possibly enjoy it knowing what is going on next door? Those that do will only be the stupid and ignorant. Which is not an excuse.

Mugabe and company are like a Goat. While feeding on green grass it still wants to reach for the leaves up tree. Unsatisfied with what is reachable it starts to jump for the leaves , ultimately injuring itself.

If course South Africa supports Mugabe, they HAD TO seeing that Thabo Mbeki's wife and Mugabe's wife are SISTERS!!!!!!! (Not in the 'relative' sense though)
Quite frankly the whole of Africa will become one large Zimbabwe very soon.
Unfortunately there is literally no-one who is prepared to die to save their country, Mugabe is doing it for them.
Heaven only knows what it will now take to get this most beautiful country back to some sort of stability.
He got rid of the white farmers so he could give the farms to his cronies, and what do they do with them?? NOTHING!!!!!!! They are left to revert to bush.
His people are starving, but he is course lives even better than Queen Elizabeth 11.
SOMEONE should just shoot the B.......!!!!!!!

South Afirica has the muscle to push Zanu on the outstanding issues and I bet if they are threatened with loosing the hosting of the world cup the tabes will turn.

It is a pity to see that South African leaders are playing politics with the lives of Zimbabwean. May be they need cheap labour for the World cup infrastructure. What proffessional organisation would like to associate itself with slave labour in this day in life. It surely is not the intention of FIFA. Take the World cup somewhere else.

We stood by the South Africans during their struggle. While still at high school we witnessed a bomb blast on a property across the road from our school but we have always identified with the cause of freedom and democracy. We hosted a lot of South African without making them feeling like second class citizens.
Why is it so difficult for South Africans to reciprocate?

To South Africa and Swaziland, who we helped to freedom Shame! and all you apologists for Mugabe and his vicious tyranny that gives sanctuary to Mengistu of Ethiopia wanted for genocide back in his own country and to all his supporters; I pray the Angels of the Lord, chase and persecute you. Amen

SA your honeymoon is over. Now is the time to live up to your responsibilities as a member of the free world. NO CHANGE NO GAMES.
This petition is a great leverage tool but I think that national teams and players need to start voicing their concerns. I'd love to hear national captains from say France, England, West Germany, Cameroon, Brazil, Nigeria etc. say that they will not play 2010 if SA, SADC and the AU don't tell Mugabe to BUGGER OFF!!
# 180:

Its time South Africa stood up against the evil Mugabe, and because they havent, they must be complicit in the destruction of a wonderful country. Boycot the games in SA and demand they are moved elsewhere, SA doesnt deserve to host them
# 179:

The only way to get South Africa to respect Zimbabweans is to dney the country the privilege to host the World cup so that it realises what denial of access to a right means

Surely,2010 games must be taken to another country if SA fails to let Mugabe leave office of Zimbabwean Presidence.

A sports boycott was used effectively to bring the 2010 host contry to heel. Now they appear unwilling to assist in ending the suffering of the Zimbabwes masses the world needs to use the same tactic in reverse and if they do not do the honorable thing ensure the 2010 football extravaganza is held elsewhere..

I am a football supporter who while wanting to separate politics from sports cannot stomach South Africa hosting the World Cup 2010.
My reason is that the Cholera Outbreak in Zimbabwe which has spilled into South Africa and Mozambique is being ignored by the authorities of South Africa.
If South Africa is going to ignore the Cholera Outbreak in Zimbabwe, it would be better to have the World Cup in Europe, North America, or Australia.

All of those hypocrites who support Mbeki's policies on Zimbabwe must stop pointing their filthy fingers at Israel, because these hypocritical ANC/SACP lackies don't give a dammn about human rights
