Mothers around the world have no status and no salaries, they often cannot go out to work as they have the full care of children and no means to pay carers or creches. This Campaign aims at proposing Salaries and Status for all mothers and carers of children and the elderly. A simple salary recognising just 50 of the 168 hours of care a week, would give so many mothers the means to rear their children without suffering poverty and lack of recongition. All mothers deserve this recognition and all children deserve a protected and nurturing childhood. Add your signature now to make a difference to mothers and carers around the globe. ps %uFFFDSome dads recently enquired if they were included ...and of COURSE they are. Each family will be offered a salary for the daytime care of children or elderly. The campaign is mostly to ensure that where there is only one parent or one carer doing the full 24/7 care, %uFFFDthat there IS a salary coming in to support that parent and children ...but where there are two parents it is still important that the person %uFFFDwho gives up a career to care for children IS seen as employed, remunerated and as having status. Thank you for your continuing support ..please get your friends, family, parents, sons and daughters to sign this petition as many of the people we want to target, have NO access to computers whatsoever ...so your voice is there voice ! This is a POWERFUL INTENTION to eradicate poverty and inequality around the globe and to give children back their childhood !

Mothers have the most important (and most challenging) job in the world, and deserve credit/praise and certainly compensation.

Mothers/Fathers and carers, regardless deserve respect for their jobs. It's a tough job & you don't stop "caring" once you leave the job. It's 24/7 and 100% committment.

The hardest and most stressfull job in the world is staying at home and caring for all the needs of your children.

Until stay at home mothers are given more recognition as an invaluable contributor to society then we are just going to be an under-valued and under the radar group in society

I believe that under the constitution of Ireland the Government are actually obliged to recognise care given within the home, and that in particular women are losing out on paid employment to provide this care. By not doing so the Government are acting contrary to the Constitution which implies that women shall not be obliged for financial reasons to work outside of the home.

having a parent at home fulltime is priceless & really helps towards raising confident stable adults. I wouldnt mind an increase in my taxes to contribute to this, as long as it was purely for adults who previously contributed to society before having kids & NOT for teenage/young mums/dads looking for an easy ride.

I fully support my wife and children. I encourage Fathers to ake the lead and do all they can to ensure the mother gets her time with the children and the children get time with their mother. I also agree they need time apart / to rest and I agree fathers should pick up the slack as much as possible when they are at home

I WAS a stay-at-home mom, then was forced into the work force because of the instability of my husband's income. Finally, I broke because my husband went back to work, thus leaving our children in the hands of unfit babysitter's and pretty much neglected (they even suffered from neighborhood "friend" abuse, we are finding out now). I was torn between a stable career or being at home (which I knew not the entirety of that instability at the time). I left my work. Now, I am a stay-at-home mom, and due to my subsequent mental instability following my breakdown from work, I will be drawing disability, however I STILL think that if I had some kind of income JUST for raising my children appropriately (better than these unfit babysitters I had to go to work for to pay for), then I would have NEVER gone to work in the first place, my children would have had SO many more joyous memories, some traumas would have NEVER happened, and maybe I would have never even developed this mental condition!

I was a stay at home Mom, My children and I would have greatly BENEFITTED from this kind of Recognition!
I now offer as needed care along with pet sitting service.
I have come to realize, people are willing to pay more for pet care than child care!
To the Success of this Campaign!

we waited years to have our daughter due to fertility issues.we finally conceived through ivf.i was working at the time.i took maternity leave and went back to work when dd was a few months old.this was the hardest thing ive ever had to do in my life.ive contiued to work 4 days a week as we need 2 incomes tp pay the bills.but it never felt right leaving dd and i cried almost everyday.now my dd is almost 2 and i cant do it anymore.why, when ive waited so long to have this precious child ,should i go to work and leave her?it will be v hard to make ends meet but we need to do it.i do agree there should be an allowance for sahm.it doesnt even have to be much.we need something to show we are hard working and valued.our children will be the better for us staying at home.
