Marriage is about love, NOT GENDER!

Same-Sex Marriage in South Carolina

Target:
U.S Federal Government
Sponsored by:
We live in America. The supposed "Land of the Free". But we are not free. We do not have the legal right to same sex marriage in the United States. Gay and lesbian Americans deserve respect and rights just as heterosexuals do. Homosexual people are just that... "People". They are not aliens, they are not a different species. They are everyday people. They are engineers, farmers, telephone operators, lawyers, doctors, cashiers, bakers, and teachers. The list goes on and on. They are not out to turn the nations heterosexual people gay. Like so many homophobic people believe. All they want is the right to love their partner, and be able to provide for them the same way heterosexual people do. If you agree, please sign my petition to give same-sex couples the same rights as heterosexuals. Starting with South Carolina. Thank you!

We the undersigned, would like for homosexuals to have the same rights as heterosexuals. Plainly put. Thank you for considering our rights, and for taking the time to read our letter.

why is it wrong for us to get married. Who are we hurting. Discrimiation is clearly the issue at hand.

If I can serve my country and die for my country why then am I not allowed to marry whom I love in that same country? My personal life and who I love has nothing to do with who I am as a person. We all have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Marriage is a union, a commitment between two individuals who vow to love, honor and cherish one another. I'm not out to change the world, I just want the legal right and ability to take care of my mate and our family, in life and in death.

If you truly and honestly think about this issue without the influence of religion, (I like my church and state seperate, thanks) you will come to the conclusion that all humans deserve this right. Please, stop predjudice now!

I am a 23 lesbian college student here in SC. I have my entire life in front of me. All lot of my friends from high school are all ready married (and some are already devoirced and remarried with children) yet we live in a state that says that we as homosexuals are not allowed to marry the person that we love because we will be ruining the sactity of marriage. But how i ask you are straight people not doing the same? They marry some one and sometimes between six months to a year they are already seperated or going through a devoirce. This is crazy. I just want to find someone I love and spend the rest of my life with her and raise a family with her. I want all the same things that a straight person wants out of their life.
