The SAVAGE practice of torturing a bull to death with long spears by a multitude of ''men'' is yet again shaming Spain in the eyes of the world as an uncaring country where extreme cruelty to animals is approved by the government! A bull is chased by thousands of blood-thirsty Neanderthals who terrorise the bull by chasing him on horseback, carrying long spears, cornering him whilst stabbing him with the spears until he collapses, when they cut off his testicles and tail, then kill him, in this most savage of all Spanish cruel ''fiestas''. The ''man'' who throws the spear of death has the 'right' to the bull's testicles and a gold-forged spear and a medal are awarded to him by the council!! This savagery was made illegal a long time ago, but in 1999, the Castilla y León regional government, where Tordesillas (Valladolid) is located, made it legal again, and year after year they stamp the authorisation so that this blood ''fiesta'' can take place again.
The women of the village also defend this practice which they say is a very old tradition in ''HONOUR of the Virgin''!!!!!
At the demo on Sunday 14th September 2008, we demanded the abolition of this vile, evil tradition in front of the Valladolid's government building where the authorisation is signed. But because of trouble on the part of the violent villagers in previous years - when they threw eggs, rotten food and STONES to the demonstrators - this year we were not allowed to demonstrate at the village itself, so we had to do it in front of nobody but the anti-riot police and several TV cameras, at the very place where the poor bull gets pushed into his path to death. It is said that the Tordesillas council organised a bullfight at the same time as the demo to distract the village cavemen, as they were afraid of bad press if they attacked the peaceful demonstrators again.

El salvaje evento donde se tortura a un toro con lanzas hasta la muerte vuelve a poner a España en el podio de la vergüenza, como un país donde la indiferencia ante el maltrato animal destaca, ¡y es aprobada por el gobierno! Un toro es perseguido por miles de neandertales sedientos de sangre, los que lo aterrorizan persiguiéndole a caballo, lanzas en mano, acosándolo y arrinconándolo mientras hieren su cuerpo con las lanzas, torturándolo hasta que cae agotado y derrotado, y es entonces que le cortan los testículos y el rabo y lo matan, en esta, la más cruel de todas las ''fiestas'' españolas. El ''hombre'' que da el lanzazo final tiene derecho a poner los testículos del toro en su lanza, y el ayuntamiento de Tordesillas le otorga con una lanza forjada y una medalla. Esta salvajada fue prohibida hace mucho tiempo, pero en el año 1999, la junta de Castilla y León volvió a legalizarla, y año tras año cuñan la autorización para que esta ''fiesta'' sangrienta pueda volver a llevarse a cabo.
Las mujeres del pueblo también defienden esta barbaridad, la cual dicen es una tradición antigua en ''HONOR'' a la Virgen!!!!
En la manifestación el domingo 14 de septiembre 2008, estuvimos exigiendo la abolición de esta vil tradición delante del edificio del gobierno de Valladolid donde se cuña esta autorización. Pero por causa de los problemas por parte de los violentos pueblerinos en previos años (cuando tiraron huevos, polvorones pasados y piedras a los manifestantes) este año no se nos ha permitido entrar al pueblo a hacer la manifestación, por lo que tuvimos que hacerla en el mismo sitio donde empiezan a conducir al toro por su camino a la muerte. Se dice que el ayuntamiento de Tordesillas organizó una corrida de toros al mismo tiempo que la manifestación para distraer a los trogloditas, ya que no querían mala publicidad con las cámaras delante, si atacaban a los manifestantes otra vez.

Los que aqu%uFFFD firmamos, protestamos en%uFFFDrgicamente contra el espect%uFFFDculo del %u2018Toro de la Vega%u2019, por cruel y sangriento. Una muchedumbre, armada con terribles lanzas medievales, persigue a un animal por el campo, acorral%uFFFDndolo y clav%uFFFDndole sus lanzas en cualquier parte del cuerpo, hasta matarlo.
Esto deja en entredicho, ante el mundo entero, la calidad moral del gobierno de la Junta de Castilla-Le%uFFFDn y del Ayuntamiento de Tordesillas al seguir apoy%uFFFDndolo.
Solicitamos la prohibici%uFFFDn de este salvaje martirio y nos unimos a la propuesta de declarar a Tordesillas "Ciudad non grata" mientras persista en defender este acto de feroz barbarie.
La propuesta de declarar internacionalmente a Tordesillas "Ciudad non grata" ha sido realizada por la Asociaci%uFFFDn Nacional para la Protecci%uFFFDn y el Bienestar de los Animales (ANPBA), de Espa%uFFFDa, las organizaciones alemanas %u201CInitiative Anti-Corrida%u201D (IAC) y %u201CAnimal 2000%u201D, y la organizaci%uFFFDn brit%uFFFDnica %u201CFight Against Animal Cruelty In Europe%u201D (FAACE).
