The purpose of this petition is to join the protests of Chinese people in China to stop the atrocity of killing cats and dogs for food and to ban the cats and dogs meat/fur trade in China.
We need to collect as many signatures as possible so that a strong collective voice (speaking on the behalf of the cats and dogs in China) can be heard by the Chinese government to end this barbaric practice.
Cats and dogs are raised as farm animals, being sold to restaurants, brutally slaughtered to serve as food on menus and their furs sold to the fur industry. These very unfortunate and frightened cats and dogs are crammed in cages for days without water, food or shade during transportation from one city to another in China awaiting to be slaughtered. Then the animals are beaten to death, strangled or boiled alive! I also saw a photo of slaughtered dog carcasses hanging from hooks.
A huge number of defenseless cats and dogs in China are dying an agonizing and undignified death as we speak. They don't have a voice, we need to speak for them. We need to make the slaughtering of cats and dogs in China be continuously in the forefront of public awareness worldwide so that these very unfortunate and sad cats and dogs in China will never be forgotten.

As someone who has been to China and was offered to eat dog as a delecacy, I believe it is very important to stop this barbaric practice. When I had returned from China in 2006, 500,000 rabid dogs had to be slaughtered, and many humans had been infected from eating the sick animals.

To the Chinese authorities, I ask most earnestly to put an end to the farms of cats and dogs in China. No culture can be respected for mistreating animals, but especially for the inhumane conditions in which cats and dogs are tortured and killed in China.
I urge you to hear your conscience and do what is best also for the people in China. You only disgrace yourselves by allowing these things to happen and calling them "culture". No culture requires brutality to exist.

As a United States citizen we hold standards for our domesticated animals. We pay large amounts of money for them, we dress them in clothes and put them in pagents yet we cant stop the abuse, starvation, abadonment and cruelty in our country and the countries around us! Something needs to change!!!
