Save GH! Bring back Genie Francis!

We, the undersigned, want you know that as longtime fans of General Hospital, we have watched ratings fall to the basement and fear GH is not long for this world.  Continuing to ignore the history of GH, rewriting on whims with no idea of where the characters and story lines are going, glorifying the mob, destroying core families- any and all of these things seemingly done to pimp the idea that women are inferior and should be treated as second class citizens - have destroyed the very core of GH.  The women who are independent and fierce protectors of their families, such as Laura Spencer played by the very popular Genie Francis, are portrayed as unable to cope with stress, surviving only as shells sent to mental hospitals, and flown out of the picture.
The storylines makes no sense, and it is unfathomable to have characters act in total opposition to whom they have always been.  Veterans are put on recurring status, and characters and actors who have been the backbone of GH are turned to mush in exchange for storylines which are never concluded - just stopped. This paired with younger actors who have no connection to the old guard makes the show ridiculous.  Yet no one on the writing team seems to have a sense for what's wrong with GH, while fans continue to tune out.  Some fans are watching soaps on other networks, while many prefer to do anything else but watch the powers that be destroy iconic characters and the onetime best soap on daytime.
However, ratings always rise when Genie Francis returns; she is the gold for General Hospital.  She has achieved success on the Hallmark circuit of movies, and while she may not need General Hospital now, General Hospital desperately NEEDS HER!  The only way GH can survive now is to bring Genie Francis back.  Please give her a long-term contract that meets her expectations, and find a team of writers, producers, and directors who are in touch with what the fans want and can respect what GH stands for.
While no one underestimates the difficulty of your jobs, you owe it to the fans to keep the Luke and Laura legacy alive that began over 30 years ago.
Thanks for your time, and we hope that you will hear our concerns and suggestions.  Time is short, but it's not too late to save General Hospital!

We, the undersigned, want you know that as longtime fans (30 ) of GH, we have watched ratings fall to the basement and fear GH is not long for this world. The women who are independent and fierce protectors of their families, as in the case of Laura, played by Genie Francis, are sent to mental wards and flown out of the picture, the storylines makes no sense, and it is unbelieveable to have characters act in total opposition to who they have always been.  Popular actors, such as Genie, with wide fan bases have suffered such treatment, but Genie is the one who has been the most missed.  Veterans are put on recurring status, and we are supposed to believe that fans are rallying to see the junk being aired today.  Ratings always rise when Genie returns; she is the gold for GH.  Genie has achieved success on the Hallmark circuit of movies - she may not need GH, but GH NEEDS HER!  Bring Genie back; give her a long-term contract, and met her expectations.  The only way GH can survive now is to do this, and find a team of writers, producers and directors who are more in touch with what the fans want and can respect what GH stands for.  Fans are tuning out and turning off GH in favor of other soaps (not on ABC), and, if not that, doing anything else rather than watch the destroying of iconic characters and previously, the best soap on daytime.
While no one underestimates the difficulty of your jobs, you owe it to the fans to keep the legacy alive that began 30  years ago.
Thanks for your time, and we hope that you will hear our concerns and suggestions.  It's not too late!
