Shadow Glen keeps alive the spirit of the horse and rider and their historical prominence in the development of the trail system along Folsom Lake and the American River.  Please sign this petition to help us keep our hoof print on the map!

Closing Shadow Glen would be a tragedy. There are so few places near Sacramento to get out on the trails, especially the wonderful trails around Folsom Lake and the American River. Equestrians are being pushed out due to urban sprawl and family activities surrounding the equestrian community are severely impacted by these closures. I have had to move my horse twice in the last 2 yrs because the boarding facilities were bulldozed and developed into tract homes. This is a tragedy! Keep equestrian and family activities alive by saving Shadow Glen.

There are few places yet where our children can enjoy nature amidst the hustle & bustle of daily life in suburbia. Companies like Shadow Glen dedicate their family's lives to preserving a little bit of our heritage that is lost to the glam of video games, television, and the modern day parent's obsession with soccer, karate and ballet. Please do not close this location.

This should be expanded to enhance the Folsom area, and make Sacramento and Folsom a vacaation destination like Tahoe

Our cities are becoming more and more urban with fewer activites that are wholesome and accessible to families, schools, scout troops and church youth groups, it is important that our community rally together to teach our young people about safe ways to enjoy nature and learn new things.

I feel really sad when I hear that they may be forced to close down the riding and boarding stables. I could not afford to have a horse of my own and although I don't go riding all that often I think it would be horrible to loose a great stables where you can ride the horses along the trails and river. I like to watch horses on t.v and then get that feeling of needing to get on a horse and go riding. Please don't close this stables.

I think it is so important to have a horse rental facility in our park. We have beautiful trails and a horse experience should be available to those who would enjoy it. thank you.

We have enought traditions that are being broadsided by political interests. This is a time honored equestrian experience that enables new riders to enjoy the outdoors and gives them an opportunity to ride in a beautiful area. Let's appreciate some of the history this stable has to offer.

Please consider providing an alternate trail for the cyclists. The equestrians have built and maintained this system for so long and it is so dangerous to allow both groups to utilize the same system. I appreciate that more people want to be out on the trails, lets provide a safe situation to accomodate both. Thank you ...

It is important to keep horse sports alive in all our communities. Shadow Glen has been in operation for over 30 years. They are clearly doing something good for their community.

My daughter learned to ride and care for horses here. It's one of a few places offering lessons in our community and the only one of it's kind on a beautiful trail system. It's a gem. How can anyone that has seen Shadowglen consider shutting it down? It would be a great loss to the community.

Riding horses is an American tradition. I understand that this is the 21st century and the majority has no desire or they fear horses; therefore, they have not experienced the pleasures that comes from the connection of the horse and rider. However, that does not mean that the majority should take that pleasure from those who get it. Please do not remove the last remnants of American culture hear in the Fair Oaks area. It would be a disservice to the children and young adults who are enjoying Shadow Glen Riding Stables.

Please leave Shadow Glen exactly where it is! Allow the people to enjoy the park on horseback. Shadow Glen gives people who don't own a horse the experience of riding in a beautiful setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We don't need another parking lot for the park, just put up better signage for the parking lot that is already there at the trailhead. SAVE THE HORSE RANCH!!!

It would be a travesty to end equestrian access to Folsom Lake. Our areas for riding are dwindling by the minute and we pay many taxes to keep our sport alive. Kids & adults have very few places to rent horses if they cannot afford to keep their own and that has become a huge expense for private citizen/horse owners. PLEASE keep Shadow Glen Stables alive and running with open access to Folsom Lake trails for the good of our community and the people who still love to be out in nature on a non-motorized or mechanical ride. We need space too! Thank you for your consideration, Debi Earl

I have been a repeat customer of Shadow Glen Riding Stables and I want to say, it is a fun family outing that gives joy to adults and kids. My kids love the horses and enjoy the nature view and ride by Folsom. If the state closes this place it would be a terrible thing. Please do not close this place.

Just the thought of removing this open experience shared by soooo many Adults and Children should be unheard of! There are years of memories invested in this history and to alter it or take it away should not be an option! SHAME ON THE ONES WHO ARE PROMOTING THIS - MAY THEY TAKE A MOMENT AND THINK OF THEIR OWN CHERISHED MOMENTS AND THINK OF HOW THEY WOULD FEEL IF THEIR MEMORIES WERE THE ONES BEING EXTINQUISHED.:(

It is important to maintain the wide range of amenities available on the Parkway, such as the riding stables, and to provide various options(horseback riding in addition to biking, hiking/walking, and skating) for the public to enjoy the area's nature. Horseback riding is part of the region's historical heritage and the last place to offer this opportunity to the public along the parkway should be preserved.

Why do we want to destroy or get rid of historic things like horseback riding and organizations like these that can do good for humanity-especially children and teenagers. Having activities like this can keep kids out of trouble and teach them more about responsibility, nature and how to enjoy life in other ways.

Shadow Glen Stables is the perfect use of the area they have been occupying for so many years. It would be sad indeed if they were eliminated from the planned use of the property. Please continue to allow them to run their stables. Do not write them out of the General Plan.

I hope my name counts. I was told the deadline for comments was Tuesday April 8th. I walk in the area of the stables every morning and love the peacefull environment created by the stables. My home backs to the bluff trails above the stables and the sight of people riding their horses would be sorely missed if the stables were no longer there.

Horses are an important part of Orangevale. Besides that, I thought we were the "land of the free". What right does the government have to shut down a stable that is doing no harm and only good? If the neighbors don't complain, no one else should be able to. People have a right to live their lives freely if they don't cause any harm to anyone or anything. They have a right to run a business of their choosing, such as this horse stable. If this plan is passed and Shadow Glen is forced to shut down, it will only confirm that the American people are nothing more than cattle in the eyes of our government.
