Idaho Roadless Forest

Restore Protection to Idaho Roadless Forests!

Target:
President Obama
Sponsored by:
The Roadless Area Conservation Rule AKA the Roadless Rule provides blanket protection for roadless areas in every state except Idaho.

Dirty politics from Bushco era henchman Dirk Kempthorne (former Idaho Governor and Secretary of the Interior with the worst environmental record ever) have resulted in Idaho being omitted from the Roadless Rule.

Roadless land accounts for a mere 2% of all land in the United States, where Idaho and Alaska share the majority of the 2%. That's all that is left.

Idaho has over 9 million acres of roadless territory - take action now - ask President Obama to protect the last of Idaho's pristine roadless areas with the Roadless Rule!

We the undersigned request that the state of Idaho be covered by the Roadless Rule, which currently protects roadless areas in all 49 other states.

Idaho and Alaska share the majority of roadless land left in the United States, which account for only 2% of all land - that's all that is left!

Idaho roadless areas represent some of our last remaining intact ecosystems, wildlife areas and open-spaces.

74% of Steelhead and Chinook Salmon habitat in roadless areas, and Steelhead and Salmon fishers spend $60 million annually in Idaho (Source: Wilderness Society).

Idaho roadless areas are vital not only to our environment and wildlife, but to a healthy human existence as well. Without roadless land, we risk loosing our connection to nature for good.

Please restore the Roadless Rule in the state of Idaho; with over 9 million acres of roadless land at risk, it is the state with the most to lose.

Idaho is a relatively unknown treasure, and it contains huge amounts of forested, primitive, roadless land. Please help protect this as it means so much to our species as well as the others we share the earth with.

They are a direct way to fight against the newest disorder yet to be medicated by big drug compaies, Nature Deficit Disorder. It kills me when I hear Alaskans and Canadians say there is no place left in the lower 48 in which true remoteness exists.

Roadless areas keep the natural lands and wildlife intact and not divided. They provide much needed space. They reduce impact. Humans don't need and shouldn't drive everywhere.

COME ON NOW YOU THERE IN THE GOOD OLE STATE OF IDAHO. AT LEAST PROTECT THE ROADLESS TERRITORY FOR OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS TO ENJOY. YOU CAN DO THIS ONE AS IT IS EASIER THAN WHAT WE LET HAPPEN TO THE WOLVES. SO AT LEAST PROTECT THE EARTH THAT HAS NO ROADS. MAYBE THEN THE ANIMALS WILL STILL HAVE SOME HOMES.

Animals need their homes, humans need an escape, we need trees to breathe, lakes and rivers to drink from, and most importantly it is the way God intended things to be!

Roadless areas are important to humans and animals, preserving the shrinking habitats of plants and animals in the USA. Preserving these natural areas is important for ourselves and our children. Please keep these valuable lands safe from development. Thank you for your attention and time, Daniel Kiessling
