We, the undersigned, would like you to re-consider the current plan of closing Kickapoo State Park.  We feel strongly that the park is an important asset not only to the surrounding area, but to the entire State of Illinois.  We urge you to explore funding alternatives that would allow the park to stay open.  Thank You for your time.

My husband and I go to Kickapoo almost every weekend to mountain bike. There are no other parks with decent mountain bike trails less than a 2 hr drive each way from where we live. You will be taking away the sport that we enjoy together. It would be a travesty to close this beautiful park.

Kickapoo State Park has made it into National Geographic Adventure magazine as one of the best mountain bike parks around. It is unacceptable that the governor feels the need to close one of the best state parks in IL. It sucks that the residents and many non-residents who use our parks and visit our historic sites have to suffer because of bad management. This is not right.

Recently visited the area. A beautiful spot. I urge you to reconsider. The park should be left for furture generations to enjoy forever.

You want to close this beautfil park? Are you kidding me? Why doesn't the governor look at how he wastes, I mean spends tax dollars first? There has to be other ways to save money. There must be wasteful programs or programs where the funds are not being allocated as they should. Or go to the federal government for assistance. This park must remain open.

I grew up in Oakwood and spent many happy hours in this park. That the governor wants to close it is beyond belief to me. Our kids need places to enjoy nature and outdoor recreation. Cut something else!

My friends and family nature, and this park has been like another member of the family, sharing in all the good times with one another. You wouldn't destroy a great friendship for a new cul de sac, so why destroy nature for the same reason?

My kids are almost old enough to go hiking at Kikapoo but if it closes they will never get to experiance one of the places I enjoy hiking in.

Please save Kickapoo State Park. If Governor Blagojevich takes our parks away from us, let's take his jet away from him!!! See how he likes that!!

For all of us who enjoy the natural elements, I can't imagine Kickapoo being closed. If it does then that means for me, Indiana would get my money -- I feel the next best area is Turkey Run. So our Lawmakers want our monies going to another state? Illinois lawmakers make me wish I would have NOT moved here. They are only out for themselves and not the people

With the amount of natural resources that our country and planet are facing, I find it apalling that there is any consideration of closing what little land we have left! Please save the hundreds of animals and plants that are depending on this land being preserved!
