Please join us in respectfully asking Charleston County PRC to choose the "No Development Concept" for Morris Island & Option 3 for Folly (most low-impact option).
Morris Island is a magical place JUST AS IT IS, and we have nothing else like it in the Charleston area.

We the undersigned, choose the "No Development Concept" for Morris Island. Morris Island is a magical place JUST AS IT IS, and we have nothing else like it in the Charleston area.
We also vote"Concept 3" for the end of Folly Beach as it is the most low-impact of the 3 choices.
We already have lots of organized parks with restrooms and docks and interpretive signs. The beauty of Morris Island is in its wildness. A dock and restrooms will encourage boatloads of visitors to this fragile island ecosystem. Those "improvements" will ruin Morris Island as we know and love it!
We signed the "Preserve Morris & Folly Islands" petition!

Please let the people of Charleston County keep these two places as wild and natural as possible. We love them just like they are; we do not need any improvements. We do not need or want extra amenities. We have so little public land that is not already crowded with people, parking lots, public restrooms, noise, trash, and traffic.
In these two cases, the way the PRC can help us most is actually by doing the least.
Thanks you!

Please choose the No Development Concept for Morris Island and Option 3 for Folly. As a resident of Folly Beach, I treasure the lighthouse and the overall community of Folly Beach. Please help to keep this intact by avoiding the impacts of development.

We care a lot about disasters, fires, floods and killer bees
We care a lot about the Morris Island Lighthouse falling in the sea
We care a lot about starvation and the food that Live Aid bought
We care a lot about disease, baby Rock, Hudson, rock, yeah!

I do not live in Charleston, but I have several family members that do. Please stop the development of Morris Island and vote Option 3 for Folly Beach. These natural treasures are some of what makes Charleston a beautiful, magical place to visist. If all of the nature preserves and other natural wonders are destroyed or developed out of existance one of our best treasures will be gone as well. Man does not always have to improve upon nature, sometimes nature gets it right the first time.

Please keep Morris Island the way it is! The island is too fragile to add a dock and restrooms. Morris Island is very special and doesn't need any "improvements."

Dear Sir / Madam ,
Why would anyone or, any goverment office, push to have a Barrier island developed. Morris Island is a remote place of great beauty. The main problem I have with it being developed is that we, as Charleston Native's, can go there and not have to deal with large numbers of people and confusion. We can take our children there and teach them about coastal nature, with sightings of deer, rabbits, turtles, ect..
It is also a place where you can go and crab & fish with other locals, without getting into a conflick with some dude from NJ, who doesn't like the way you set your beach towel down !
Keep it natural & for South Carolina residense !!!!

It would be beyond asinine to develop this local treasure. Morris Island protects us from sea-borne winds, waves, floods, and hurricanes. Developing it would not only be a bastardization of what makes our coast so special, but also would destroy the integrity of our natural protection from the sea: our barrier islands. Do not develop Morris Island, or else I'll be coming to you with my next flood/wind damage/hurricane destruction bill.

Morris Island Lighthouse was one of the first places I visited when I moved to Charleston and I've been back many times since then because of the natural beauty there. No Development on Morris Island and Option 3 for Folly.

Please preserve one of the last unspoiled islands in the Charleston area. There are enough tourist attractions that the last pristine, wild & beautiful island should be left alone for people to enjoy AS IS and reflect on what ONCE WAS.
