Save NJ Bears from Planned Hunt

As usual, this year's bear hunt in NJ is controversial and hotly debated and has landed itself right back in court.

A bear hunt is scheduled in NJ this year to stem the growing population of bears and prevent them from infiltrating suburbia. Authorities claim that the numbers are increasing and it's essential to hunt to keep the numbers safe for NJ communities.

But, the state is NOT being clear on the number of bears and it continues to shift to fulfill it's argument for the hunt. We should not be moving forward with the hunt if we are unsure of the situation we are facing.

In the last 40+ years, this hunt has taken place only three times because of the dropping population of bears in the region. We cannot put our bear population in jeopardy when we do not know all the facts.

Tell the NJ Appellate Court to cancel this year's bear hunt in NJ and work to formulate a more comprehensive bear population study.
We the undersigned are asking that you overturn the upcoming bear hunting plan in NJ. It is essential that we have all of the facts before we move into such a potentially damaging decision.

We should not be moving forward with the hunt if we are unsure of the situation we are facing. Please do the right thing and cancel this year's bear hunt in NJ. We must work to formulate a more comprehensive bear population study before we take such action.
