I understand one of the reasons Starbucks is closing stores is to get back to its original mission of a community-based coffee shop. Fairwood is precisely this type of community, uniquely so for our area. Many stores are apparently remaining open in our area that do not fit this criteria, ie. they are in business strip malls. From a sales perspective, Fairwood is only 50% built-out residentially, so there is plenty of room to grow. In addition, two office complexes are being built near the Starbucks, one catty-corner to Fairwood, and one behind the shopping center in which the Starbucks is located. Not only do these promise additional customers, but opportunities for corporate coffee sales as well. Further, a 30-acre community park is coming in the next year that will attract visitors, as are a planned day care and senior center, and an elementary school. The Starbucks in Fairwood has only been open one year. We do not feel that Starbucks has given it the time it deserves to prove its viability, nor that its tremendous potential for future sales has been given weight. The Fairwood Starbucks is a community-based store in the truest sense of the word. Please reconsider your decision to close it.

Our neighborhood Starbucks deserves a FAIR chance. Our community has not yet neared completion. Business is sure to pick up as more residents move in. We ALL greatly appreaciate our neighborhood Starbucks, and would be MORE than greatly disappointed if it was snatched from our community without true consideration of our neighborhood families and what it means to us. This Starbucks is important to us as a new development. I work primarily from home and when I have had meetings, several of my colleagues mentioned how much they appreciate having a full-service Starbucks less than a mile away! Also, I like being able to stop in, chat with the staff and to mingle with my neighbors. It's a great place to decompress, read the paper, and just BE. Don't close it and extend the hours of operation!

I am 15 years old and I live in Fairwood and I walk around the neighborhood a lot. I like to stop by Starbucks whenever I can. The thought of the store being closed down with 600 others in the county is thought provoking. I would hate to see them closed down. Please SOS!

Losing Starbucks will not only diminish the quality of services offered but will have an negative impact on the value of our homes. Since this is the first and most significant planned community in Prince Georges County, we cannot afford to lose this highly recognize coffee store. We must do what is necessary to keep Starbucks and the other merchants in our shopping center.

I don't think this Starbucks has really had a fair chance. The community is not fully built yet, and the shopping center not fully occupied. I have no doubt that We can sustain this store and make it one of the busiest in the area. I can actually ride my bike or walk there -- and it's the only Starbucks I can say that about. the Fairwood Starbucks is less than a year old and it is well stocked and managed. Our community eagarly awaited it's opening. It is right across from teh Gold's gym and many patrons like stop there after their workout. The starbucks inside the Fairwood Safeway would be a better target for closure, as it has limited menu.

I visit the Fairwood Starbucks every morning and evening. Starbucks is my place to visit on Saturday and Sunday mornings; It is where I go to have my tea,read and relax. I look forward to those moments. I have made new friends and I have met some of my neighbors while visiting Starbuck. It is a place where my children and I spend moments together and we also study there as well. But most importantly, I've build a wonderful relationsh with the Starbuck staff. We share our life stories; we laugh and we talk about family and the future. I have build a wonderful place with very nice people. Please don't take that away - We "All" need it.

The Fairwood Starbucks is a valuable asset to the Fairwood Community. My family visits there more than 10 times a week (we have teenagers...lol) Also, with the multiple new office complexes being built in the surrounding area, it's in the perfect location. If any store should close it should be the store on 197 in Bowie OR the Safeway Starbucks in Fairwood. Honestly, the Safeway Starbucks is very inconsistent when making their drinks. Rarely do I receive a drink from the SAFEWAY store that is worth drinking. I MUCH prefer the free standing Starbucks in the Fairwood Green Plaza.

I know this decision is a decision of Starbucks corporate balance sheet. I can understand that fully; but--we'll miss not only the signature Starbucks products but even more the signature "presence" and staff!

I patronize the Fairwood Green Starbucks in my neighborhood at least five times each week or more. Many of my friends and neighbors were very happy to have it open here. It's a friendly gathering place for us and we would like to keep it in the neighborhood. Please see your way clear to keep it open and watch it thrive as the area grows.
