Northpoint Training Center Prison Riot

Save Our Husbands, Fathers, and Sons

Target:
Northpoint Training Center Prison
Sponsored by:
I am setting up this petition on behalf of the families of the inmates that were at   North Point Training Center during and after the riot.  Some inmates charged in the riot are guilty, some are not. There were and continue to be many injustices occurring at this facility and if we don't step up and help our family members fight for their Constitutional rights they are doomed.  After the riot, 700 of the 1200 were moved to other facilities in the state.  The 500 remaining at NTC were supposedly the "good ones" that never were a problem.  They moved the"problem" ones and the ones with medical issues.  The ones still at NTC are now being harassed and wrongfully charged. Staff is physically abusing inmates. Some inmates have been beaten and tasered while handcuffed.  Additionally, guards have wrongfully charged some inmates with being involved in the riot.  Some of these inmates have already served more than 60 days in solitary confinement for something they had nothing to do with.  Guards have conflicting stories, have not followed policies and procedures and have threatened inmates with an additional 25 years added to their time.  Grievances and medical requests have been tossed in the trash by the guards. These men are being locked down and double bunked for 72 hrs at a time. The law specifically states 23 hrs. North Point Prison is out of control and trying to blame as many inmates (innocent or not) to take the pressure off of the real criminals. Themselves...

Please help us protect the rights of our loved ones by signing this petition.  Some may think that inmates should have no rights but they are human beings.  We are just asking that our loved ones not be subjected to abuse or negligence any longer and that only those that were involved in the riot be held responsible.

The accusations being made against the staff at North Point Prison are entirely too serious, severe, and dangerous to allow the prison to do a self investigation. The state needs to intervene immediately to verify the safety of the inmates.

I feel strongly that the charges against the inmates should be investigated by an independent authority outside the jurisdiction of both the prison system and the Kentucky Department of Corrections! This tacking on of additional charges and the denial of a proper system for filing grievances with the prison are both suspicious and injust!!

The accusations made regarding the riots at Northpoint need to be investigated by a non-biased third party. The individuals responsible for the riots need to be held accountable, but there needs to be indisputable evidence before they are charged.

This stuff has being going on at NorthPoint far to long and something has to be done,These prisoners are still humans and do not deserve this kind of treatment.Somebody has to step in and do something about this.
