Our wild horses are in trouble and need your help.
President Obama,I do not want my tax dollars going to the BLM to round-up wild horses with helicopters,and hold them captive until they are sold or slaughtered as is allowed by law now.
Our wild horses represent our own wild free nature. In 1971 we allocated 43 million acres of BLM land for their survival. Then,Senator Conrad Burns slipped in a amendment in the 2004 budget,two days before vote, and changed the law . Since then the BLM has rounded up over 100,000 horses saying they are destructive to the environment while they allow 7 million cattle and sheep to take their place.
It is time to reverse this sorry excuse to get the most out of our tax dollar.
Horses have survived 50 million years on this continent! They are one of the hardiest creatures on earth. They have also carried us upon their backs through history.They fouight in our wars and died by our swords. They have plowed our fields, healed our sick and depressed children, inspired the greatest art ,books,songs. They have been one of our closest animal allies. Now they need us!

Dear President Obama Our wild horses are in trouble and need your help. President Obama,I do not want my tax dollars going to the BLM to round-up wild horses with helicopters,and hold them captive until they are sold or slaughtered as is allowed by law now. Our wild horses represent our own wild free nature. In 1971 we allocated 43 million acres of BLM land for their survival. Then,Senator Conrad Burns slipped in a amendment in the 2004 budget,two days before vote, and changed the law . Since then the BLM has rounded up over 100,000 horses saying they are destructive to the environment while they allow 7 million cattle and sheep to take their place. It is time to reverse this sorry excuse to get the most out of our tax dollar. Horses have survived 50 million years on this continent! They are one of the hardiest creatures on earth. They have also carried us upon their backs through history.They fouight in our wars and died by our swords. They have plowed our fields, healed our sick and depressed children, inspired the greatest art ,books,songs. They have been one of our closest animal allies. Now they need us! What kind of monsters have we become as human beings to treat so noble a friend so unkindly? Slaughter houses,recently closed are now being reconsidered in Montana. Horses are difficult to kill as they are flight animals and the the dime sized mark between their eyes is hard to target often causing them to be dismembered ALIVE!

H.R.503 is one of the most important bills that have been introduced since 1971. It is imperative that congress vote for this act to save our horses and burros from any further torture and slaughter. How we are viewed by the world and the examples that we set, determines our leadership roles. How can we help stop animal abuse worldwide, if we can't stop it in our own country? Please address the congress President Obama, on the importance of voting yes for H.R.503 and H.R.1018. Thank you.
