Save St. Louis County Parks

County Executive Charlie A. Dooley proposed a budget cut this past Monday that would close 23 county parks, including Lone Elk, Greensfelder, and George Winter, and eliminate 133 jobs, 40 of them full time.

As citizens, we need to show that we care about our land and the value that it holds, both in an economic and inspirational sense.

Sign this petition in support of a sustainable future for our parks and jobs for its protectors.
We the undersigned are in solidarity against the proposed budget cuts involving the Parks Department.

We feel that the cuts unfairly prey on an easy target. The parks mean a lot to the people of St. Louis County as they provide ineffable beauty and everlasting memories. We do not support the closing of 23 parks or the termination of 133 park-related careers. In our country's current condition it is vital that we invest in our future, and preserving Missouri's beauty does just that. We ask you, our elected official, to heed our plea & acknowledge our voice.

Thank you for taking time to read our letter.
