Please do not allow the new mine on Sumas Mountain!!! Another mine will scar our mountain beyond recognition. As a property owner on the mountain, and a long time resident of Abbotsford, I cannot believe they are considering Mine (on Crown Land!!!) that backs onto a Park!!! I have seen the changes that mining has caused on our mountain, AND ITS NOT GOOD!!! Blasting is one of the biggest problems , it Cracks Foundations, Dries Up Wells and Poisons the Water Supply, Destroys Air and Sound Quality and much more. We all know how far sound travels living on the mountain!!! This mine, will probably run 24/7!!! There Won't Be NO PEACE FOR HUMAN OR ANIMAL ALIKE!!!
Metro Vancouver just bought property on the Mountain for a Park!!! What good is a Park if you can't hear the birds sing???
Trucking is another huge problem, the mountain road is very narrow, steep with lots of corners no shoulders, so there no getting away from a truck that goes over the centre lane!!! Which happens a lot already!!! Jake Brakes!!! Running stop signs!!! Speeding!!! Trucks breaking down on the steep slopes, oil, fuel and transmission fluid oozing down the road into the ditches and streams!!! GREAT FOR THE HABITAT!!! NOT!

The B.C. Bike Association spent many man hours making trails through this land for Naturalists and Enthusiasts to use, it's Beautiful!!! We have pictures to prove how Beautiful and Tranquil this area still is, it should be a priority to preserve and maintain it%u2019s current condition for the People to use. As for the Animals that live there, they should be protected and allowed to live in an area where they can still be Free, there%u2019s habitats continue to dwindle and eventually there will be nowhere for them to go. In addition, this will destroy threatened mountain beaver habitat which is currently being studied by students from BCIT on a regular basis.This mine must be STOPPED NOW!!!
I'm sure that if Dave Taylor of Westland Tractor Company of Kamloops 266531B.C. LTD. Wouldn't want this mine in his Back Door!!!
