By signing this petition, you will be voicing your opposition to the Mayor and the Aldermen of Ballwin, Missouri who plan to cull the geese for no other reason then doing what comes naturally. You will be asking them to come up with a more humane and socially acceptable way to handle the situation.

We the undersigned respectfully request the humane and socially acceptable treatment of the Ballwin, Missouri geese population. Culling is unacceptable.
Please stop the intended murder of innocent geese in Ballwin, Missouri before it is too late. This is nothing more than an attempt to kill the geese for no other reason then for doing what comes naturally.
This attempt to lower the number of geese by rounding them up and killing (culling) the geese is unforgiveable. The geese are defenseless during their molting season and cannot fly away. Molting begins in June and the round up is scheduled to begin the month of June 2009. The geese do not stand a chance.
Instead the community leaders should be looking for ways to control the geese population in a more humane and socially acceptable way. The geese are afraid of moving objects and noise and it had previously been suggested to the Aldermen that they put up pinwheels and low flying flags which move and make noise and would scare the geese away. It had also been suggested that the community hire some of the unemployed to pick up after the geese; thereby eliminating two problems with one solution. Birth control is always a humane method. There are many humane ways to go instead of culling. We beg you not to proceed with this permit to cull the geese.
