A PETITION TO SAVE INDIA%u2019S NATIONAL ANIMAL

TIGER, tiger%u2026,
burning bright
In the forests of the night,

What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?......

Who out of us has read these lines by William Blake and not felt awe for Indias National animal, the mighty TIGER. But do we want but only a fleeting memory of a once magnificent animal?

The Tigers future is in danger, and it is up to us to save our wildlife and our forests. In return we will be insuring our own future which is intrinsically linked with that of the Tiger.

According to the latest survey by Wildlife Institute of India , India%u2019s leading wildlife institute, the tiger numbers have reached an all time low .Nothing substantial is done by the centre and state governments to stop poaching, deforestation and encroachment into tiger territory, which are the main causes of decline in tiger numbers. This is due to the highest level of irresponsible behavior, greed, corruption and poor management by the government.

India needs its Tigers and we demand urgent action in the national interest and will of the common man. You and I are the Tiger%u2019s last hope. India%u2019s history has seen its share of signatures in blood promising their lives for the honour of our country. We only ask for support to uphold the very existence of our national animal and to ensure its role not only in history but also in our future.

SAVE THE TIGER, SAVE YOURSELF%u2026.!!

So, just take a moment and conjure up an image of the great Tiger and hold it in your hearts and your minds because there are a few things in life which are as breathtaking%u2026%u2026.

Sincerely,
RADHIKA BHAGAT

We must save all wild life for the sake of Nature and our own future! I do not want to imagine a future where the only tigers are just seen in videos, toys, and pictures and none the less witness such horrible thing. The tiger is such a wonderful, beautiful, and powerful animal and it would be a terrible thing not to see them ever again. Something must be done. People need to be taught to respect Nature and all the creatures in this world, because without them, humans would be nothing. Humans are the only creature on Earth destroying it and everyone must do something to change that forever. People like poachers should be punished severely. Please do something for the sake of all these animals' future and for ours.

I am disturbed that there are people there who have tried helping save those tigers and are punished and that there are also others who are supposed to be part of the effort but do the opposite and are rewarded. I hope this is a good wake up call.
