Big cats such as the Lynx have been listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act.
No one knows for certain how many remain in the U.S.Confirmed populations exist in Maine,Minnesota,Montana,Washington and Wyoming. It was re-introduced into Colorado.
The Lynx has specific habitat needs. They need a dence corpse of trees and brush. While this is not hard to find, they are scattered because much of the habitat is being managed for timber production.
Let's urge our elected officals to work on legislation which would prevent the development of timberland in certain natural habitats where the Lynx live.
We the undersigned urge you to protect the natural habitat that the Lynx needs for their continued survival before it is to late.By protecting timberland that is part of their natural habitat you will also be helping the enviroment. We thank you for your time.
